The data points for this can be found in recent reports on private payrolls (averaging just under 200,000 jobs per month for the past year),
Between January 2008 and February 2010, the U.S. economy lost 8.8 million jobs.

Since a recent employment low in February 2010, nonfarm payrolls have expanded by 4.1 million jobs. Of the 8.8 million jobs lost between January 2008 and February 2010, approximately 46.7% percent have been recovered.

Statistically, 125,000+- jobs a month is enough to keep the unemployment rate flat.

The average employment gain over the last 27 months has been 139,000, barely enough (statistically speaking) to make a dent in the unemployment rate.

Yet, the civilian unemployment rate has fallen from 9.8% to 8.2%.

In the last few months, of 422,000 people presumably hired by the household survey, 245,000 were for part-time jobs.

Were it not for people dropping out of the labor force, the unemployment rate would be well over 11%.
http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/20...

April AND May's jobs report was 69,000 and 80,000 approximately. Not even enough to keep up with population growth. We're trending lower, not higher employment.

Just like employment rates being "revised down" every quarter, so to is our GDP. How can we be growing at an annual rate of 3% if the 1st quarter of 2012 we grew at 1.88%? And our Second Quarter GDP is estimated to come in around 1.4%?

Where, or perhaps When are you getting this information you're swallowing hook, line and sinker?
Consumer confidence PLUNGED to 74.1 after everyone had expectations of 77.5, which is considered a huge drop compared to May's 79.3. In brief, this was the biggest miss to expectations since February of 2006.

nice caveat, "before adjusting for inflation". At BEST we can hope that wage growth has been keeping up with inflation since 2010.

In the early 1980s, the government revised inflation calculations. More significant modifications occurred in the early 1990s, and today, the CPI is meaningless. If 1980 inflation calculations were applied to the years 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2011, the real inflation rates would be 9%, 9%, 10%, and 9%, respectively.

Inflation is little more than a shadow tax on Americans wealth due to government just wishing TRILLIONS of dollars into existence out of thin air.

You realize that Obama's jobs bills have even been shot down in the Senate? And that the Senate is controlled by Democrats and could pass anything they wanted? EVEN Obama's own democrats aren't voting for his "jobs" (cough)(cough) bills. That's how bad they are.

Why is Obama waiting on anything from Congress anyway? He's been implementing his own laws through executive order as it is. Not to mention the programs and hundreds of billions and new regulations that Obama and the other democrats have been implementing since Democrats won control of Congress after the 2006 elections...ya, keep blaming Bush and the evil Republicans lol

You're an idiot! My post was in response to someone's question. And there's not one thing on there that is not true. No one, not even government knows yet how this healthcare plan will work. We have to do what Nancy said and pass it, so we know what's in it. The only real fact known as of this date is that everyone will have to have a policy. How much it will be? No one knows for sure, those plans are in the making. How it will affect the nation as a whole, no one knows. What we do know is that you can pass all the free health care you want, but you can not force the doctor's to take the patients. Many have said so, and many believe it's a deterrent for young med school grads to take on another direction rather than get mixed up with bureaucrats and government red tape. And there will be plenty of that. Whose going to argue with a doctor when he tells you he is not taking any new patients? There is a specialist in Murray, Ky who asks for payment up front if you are on Medicare because his office secretary said it takes them too long to re-reimburse the doctor - but they will allow you the proof that you visited the doctor so you can turn it in yourself. I know this for a fact because it's a relative of mine.

So who cares who created this monster, it was a bad idea all the way around and we have the Democrats to thank for the mess this country will be in and the loss of jobs and closing of businesses that will follow in time to come.

Well, we do know that the ten year costs of Obamacare isn't less than a trillion dollars. When you actually look at ten years of spending (not the 4 years of taxes before the next 6 years of spending kicks in within the CBO scored "ten years")
From 2014 (when Obamacare spending truly starts) to 2023 (an actual ten year spending period)-Obamacare is now projected to cost 2.4 trillion dollars.

And that's assuming unrealistic growth rate in health care costs and who will use obamacare.

One reason all of our premiums have gone through the roof is because our medical insurance companies had to hire experts and lawyers to try and figure out just what they are supposed to do or not do with this huge brainfart called Obamacare, the huge "not a tax" tax. The democrat politicians that passed this piece of crap law couldn't understand it so they elected not to even bother reading it and many of them are lawyers!
Many doctors would not accept Medicaid patients because of the red tape and fraud accusations they would have to go through. Now Obamacare will add millions more to the Medicaid plan. Where is the reform for Medicaid in Obamacare? This law is all about reform, right? lol Sure it is. This law does nothing to reform a damn thing and will only add to the problem. Many doctors will leave their offices and sign contracts with hospitals if they even stay in the medical field. So we will all be going to hospitals for our doctor appointments. Those crazy republicans warned that we would have to wait for weeks and months sometimes just to see a doctor and our quality of medical care will circle the sewer hole just like our country is doing under Obama's caring hand. All employees that are no longer offered medical insurance must purchase their own now and Obama hopes to be re-elected so as to put the public option back in and save us all from doom and gloom once again. We will all be sitting in government run hospitals waiting to see a doctor and what that doctor can do for us will be under the constraints of a government budget for that government run hospital and that budget will be decided upon by politicians and lawyers and lobbyists.

Most people are smart enough to know that when you get the government running something there will be mounds of red tape, hoops to jump through, no avenue to take when you have complaints as you are beholden to them by law for your health care. What they say goes. Have you ever tried to fight the government? The only thing Obama assured us of is that we can die with dignity on his plan. lol Slap a pain patch on our arms, push us in a corner, take a number, take a seat and hope like hell our procedures are within the governments budget...before we die with dignity.

12 Incredible Obamacare Quotes That Show That Our Wretched Healthcare System Is Headed Directly Into The Toilet

You might as well stick a fork in the U.S. healthcare system because it is finished. Even before Obamacare, Americans paid far more for healthcare than anyone else in the world. Now thanks to Obamacare we will be faced with much higher health insurance premiums, much higher taxes, much longer waits to see doctors and more government bureaucrats involved in our lives than ever before. As I have written about previously, the U.S. healthcare industry is a horrible mess, and now Obamacare is going to take the entire system directly into the toilet.

Truth, liberals love to hate.

Liberals have been dying to reinstate the so-called "assault weapons" ban, but they haven't been able to for political reasons.(For more information on this, see the 1994 congressional elections.)

A typically idiotic Democratic scheme, the "assault weapons" ban prohibited the sale of semiautomatics that are operationally indistinguishable from deer rifles, but which looked scary to liberal women.

First, the Democrats tried lying about how American guns were being found in the hands of Mexican drug dealers -- while demanding a renewal of the assault weapons ban.

Obama had barely unpacked at the White House, when he and high-level administration officials and Senate Democrats -- Holder, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Sen. Chuck Schumer -- started railing about how our lax gun control laws were putting guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

In 2010, even Mexico's President Felipe Calderon demanded that the U.S. reinstate the assault weapons ban -- on the grounds that Mexican drug violence was directly linked to the law's repeal.

The claim was preposterous for many reasons, including the fact that the type and quantity of armaments being used by Mexican drug cartels can be obtained only from places such as North Korea, China, Russia, Venezuela and Guatemala.

The notion that most guns used by Mexican drug gangs came from the U.S. was a lie -- exposed on about 1 million gun blogs. So, then the Obama administration did exactly what Democrats had been falsely accusing American gun sellers of doing: They put American guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

The only explanation for Fast and Furious is that it was a program to prop up a losing gun control argument. The Waco and Ruby Ridge raids were monstrous, but they at least made sense as simple screw-ups:(1) ATF's budget was about to be cut and it needed some showy raids; and (2) law enforcement officials detest private gun ownership on principle.

There is no conceivable law enforcement objective to giving Mexican drug dealers thousands of untrackable guns. It's not even fun for the agents, like an armed raid on a private home. If there's some other explanation, Holder isn't telling.

Republicans refuse to state this clearly because they can't prove it. Instead, they just keep chattering about the documents that haven't been turned over and subpoenas that haven't been answered.

Did Democrats wait for a smoking gun to accuse Karl Rove of treason for revealing Valerie Plame's identity as a CIA agent? It turned out Rove didn't reveal it, and it wouldn't have been a crime if he had.

Did they wait for proof to accuse Sen. John McCain of committing adultery? They had none, and yet that story ran on the front page of The New York Times.

Did they have any evidence before accusing the entire Republican House leadership of complicity in Mark Foley's creepy emails to young male interns? See if you can guess. Take all the time you need. Feel free to call one of your "lifelines" if necessary.

Liberals just make wild-eyed accusations and demand Republicans prove themselves innocent.(Say, whatever happened to Karl Rove's trial for treason for outing Valerie Plame? Can somebody call Lawrence O'Donnell and check on that?)

Insurance companies have lawyers on staff. They do not have to go out and hire.
Premiums go up as the cost of medical care goes up,and on this Medical Care package, adding 30 million uninsured to the rolls including the illegals. If insurance is to cover the bills, and the bills are higher, forget the idea that insurance will go down in price. It is not practicable to treat medical problems, other than emergency care, and then the patient be sent to their own personal medical Dr.It is not something any of us like to think of,but every one does need to either have money or be able to have medical care. The care costs money,so,where does it come from?Putting the cost on the backs of tax payers is not the solution that is fair.Putting the problem on the backs of the person able to pay for their own,is not fair. So,just what is fair?Obama Care is not fair!!!It just makes for more problems and will wind up costing the workers greater ,as they have to pay for the non workers. The indigent and the poor will always be with us,so says the Bible. But they are the only ones that should be given medical care at the "others" expense.

You're quite the healthcare expert ain't ya moron -- don't you just love the GOPer plan "Don't get sick"! Why is it that you mindless idiots can't understand the simple premise: the more uninsured the bigger the cost to the Gov't. The sick going to the ER comes at a tremendous cost to the tax payer, the cost grows and so do the waiting lines as more people lose their health insurance!

The whole GOPer idea that there are some magic beings called the “Job Creators” is complete bunk and nothing more than a (tiresome) talking point. Anyone who has ever run a business, as owner or manager, knows that hiring employees is very expensive and is done as a last resort when the demand for your product or service is pushing productivity to a tipping point. A business only grows with increased demand and you, as the manager, care very little about taxes or uncertainty, once that demand is there you jump on the opportunity, after all, that’s why you started the business!
