My soon to be sister in law has been infront of this judge several times and has not been treated fairly. What do you all think about her?

to judge you- - You are in front of her for a reason. She is a very intelligent woman. She know her bounds- respect her and you will not have any problems.

yes I was...my father was there b/c he beat me and I was treated very badly and made to feel like a low-life and like I was the one to have something to be ashamed of. When we went to a second trial, he was found guilty by another judge. I was there for THAT reason, I did nothing wrong!

She handled my divorce case. I really liked her. She is a hard ass for sure. But she did the right thing by my child and that was give me SOLE PERMANANT custody. She even joked with me about being pregnant with my 2nd child because my ex husband had tried to contest the divorce for this reason. Even though he was locked up and there was no possible way the child was his. I think she is an awesome judge and she is fair when it comes to the sake of the children. I'm not the only one who feels this way. There are several of my friends that do also. She has the best interest of the child in mind. Not what the parent thinks they need. There need to be more judges out there like her because there are too many children that are mistreated and abused by their own parents and if more judges were like Judge Gormely then we wouldn't have this problem in this world!!

She handled my divorce case. My husband turned out to be a jerk. He became a drug addict, alcoholic. He lost his job. We had two beautiful children. I was a stay at home mom. I went to church. He was so controlling he would not even allow me to try to go out and get a job.

I finally filed for divorce. He was in and out of jail.(And he was a distant relative of Judge Gormley), some of her political people.

I went to court and she treated me and my attorney who was known to be one of the best in town, and treated us both like crap. It was disgusting. She awarded that jerk custody of my children. Pretty much kicked me to the streets, saying that due to the fact that I had never worked I was not capable of raising them. She's an evil witch. She's only motivated by politics and she wouldn't even know how to practice law. She screwed my attorney and everyone in town was talking about it. I despise the woman. I hope she get what she needs. I want to see her off the bench. I hardly ever get to see my kids, they are staying between my ex (druggie) and his stupid parents. I've almost lost my mind. They say payback is hell. LET HER GET IT......

You were pregnant while you were divorcing your husband???

I'm not sure that a Judge is suppose to grant a Divorce Decree when you are pregnant? Sounds like she was operating outside the law to me.

I wasn't pregnant when I filed the divorce. I got pregnant and was 13 weeks along when we went to court for the divorce. My ex husband had been in prison for over a year at the time, and there was no possible way that he was the father of my 2nd child. I spoke to my lawyer at the time, and she said that it was perfectly legal. So I don't see how that is operating outside of the law.

She's just a B. She just makes her own rules and now she's in trouble. What did she expect?

She's just a stupid B. She only does what she wants to do whether its wrong or right. She may get her toes stepped on. They need to throw her under the bus.

Listen, I didn't say anything harsh towards you, nor anyone else, so lay off. The fact that I was pregnant while getting a divorce was irrelevant to this thread. I was just saying that I liked the way the judge handled my case.

You do not have to be so rude and inconsiderate to me, because I did nothing to you. Thanks for implying that I'm basically an idiot, that doesn't know how to work a computer. And FYI, I do know how to Google.

Nobody wins in family court. When I went through my divorce and subsequent custody dispute several years ago, I felt much like the majority of you. The fact is you are hurt, you are angry and you are not rational. It is impossible to be rationale in your situation. But your issues with your x-spouse are not Judge Gormley's problem. It is not her job to be liked. In 100% of her cases, 50% of the constituants are not going to be happy. It is a thankless job. Yet some organizations take the time to look at the scope of her work. People who are not emotionally attached to the matter. These are the people who give her awards like the one recently given her. Take a look at the following link.

You should appreciate the fact that somebody like her, a person who cares about children, is willing to sit in a courtroom all day long and listen to your issues, your problems, your endless crap, and do her very best to focus on one thing, the children and laws in place to protect these children.

She is a good person and a good judge. If you would get your heads out of your collective asses for five minutes you would see that. Someday, like me, you will look back on this with an unemotional view and realize a fact...EVERYBODY LOSES IN FAMILY COURT. It is her job to minimize that loss for the kids. Think about it!
