Rode the train yesterday what a joke... Broke down for 4 hours no bathrooms, staff was very rude, unapologetic, had no clue what to do. Terrible Santa kids are horrified of trains now.

Train is a disaster dirty stained nasty seats in first class, overheated stuffy falling apart in coach. Not recommended at all!

I too rode this train yesterday I agree, my assessment is very similar to yours!

Truly disorganized place. Yesterdays Santa train ride was a complete disaster, broke down for 4 hours no bathrooms, screaming kids, irritated guest and rude staff. Staff had no clue what was going on and only response was it happens what can you do... terrible place. Coaches are nasty and dirty as if they have never been cleaned, first class coach seats where stained carpet was dirty.

Staff, did I mention they are rude because boy are they. Asked our rude conductor when we would returned and was told "honestly we have bigger problems right now" I would say so. Asked for a refund and was told that we received our ride and got a longer ride then most was I not happy? They refused refunds, after all of that?

Good luck we will be going to Kentucky Railroad Museum next year!

This is a drastic understatement! They had disgruntled teenagers walking up and down the aisles singing Christmas songs they couldn't remember the words to while the radio above was playing a different song. They were not dressed as elfs as posted on the website, you couldn't tell them from anyone else on the train if they weren't asking people if they had suggestions for songs then saying well we don't that one. Santa came by for maybe ten min. No organization, this lady comes up behind us and says dryly "it's your turn". We are already aggravated but start to notice the train going forward then backwards then again, then again. Some loud mouth comes back to give a uneducated excuse as to why this is happening only to be corrected by some other loud mouth who knew little more. They finally announce that the engines have died and that we were four miles from the station. They have a passenger who owns school busses but would only be able to take 20 people maybe 80 at a time. There are 300 people on this train. What was supposed to be a quick train ride with Santa, Mrs. Clause (who was not there) and his elves turned into a four hour nightmare on the oldest train in Versailles!!!!! And yes toward the I lost it and told them it was shity ...the entire set up was shity!

You must in reality be related to one of the crew or possibly one of the crew. You state that you came from Northern Ky but yet its listed you live in Lawerenceburg, Ky. If you had rode that train you would have not been happy 4 hours on a train with no facilities to relieve yourself, and hundreds of bored children is no fun at all. To get no help from staff and rude answers to questions if no way to operate.

Furthermore to call passengers belligerent, loud and whinny? you sound just like the angry conductor that was giving out excuses as to the wait. I have not forgot the joys of Christmas rather squander a precious Saturday with my family on a single train ride that was not enjoyable in the least. A little information, courtesy would have gone a long way in this situation which Bluegrass Railroad Museum showed absolutely none of. A Terrible situation made worse by a terrible staff, that was likely poorly trained to handle the situations that can happen.

This doesn't shock me at all, this place has been a disaster for years the government just throws money at it via "grants" to keep it alive they squander money in rehabs then in 5 years they are right back in the same spot. The engines break down and the great master of the railroad Art Richie (whom take help from no one) screws around belittling anyone suggestion till there is no other choice.

I heard this time police where called and the county paid bus drivers to come save the day! More money squander on a useless group of children and their toys that only the gifted can play with.

Looks like the little Museum made the news wonder who pays for the bus that picked everyone up?

I am really sorry for those of you that had a bad time on the train ride. Yes, it was an unfortunate thing having the train breakdown. It would be nice when you are talking about it to at least tell the whole truth not partial truths. Guess it's not nearly as dramatic that way, huh? They gave full refunds to anyone who wanted them Saturday - I witnessed this. And to the lady who was on the news - seriously, you liken an inconvenient situation to people dying on the Titanic? That's just screwed up. The people who worked this train are all volunteers, they are giving their time to try to do something fun for the holidays. Why must you beat them up so badly? I feel sorry for you that you have that much venom within.

Wow, I do not know who you are or who you think I am, I am from Frankfort - that's all you have correct. I did not call anyone nasty names. You have worse problems than a broken down train.
