An IHSAA town hall meeting will be held at Seymour High School next week, and another at Milan High School the following week, to discuss whether the basketball tournament will continue in its current multi-class format, or return to the single-class format.

Following is a link to the "Gburg Pirate Basketball" thread in the Greensburg forum which contains information that might be useful....

Consider the increased travel distances incurred by the current multi-class format. Greensburg, as winner of its own Class 3A sectional, had to travel three hours (one way) to the Washington (IN) regional. North Decatur, by winning the Class 2A sectional at South Ripley, had to travel almost the same distance to Southridge. The Class 4A winner in the Evansville area had to travel to Shelbyville.

Back in the day, the winner of the Greensburg sectional used to play in the Columbus regional. In 1972, the Greensburg winner began traveling to Connersville. Later, Greensburg traveled to New Castle. Now its Washington. The travel distances are greater and greater and its says something about the level of respect the IHSAA has for basketball in southeastern Indiana.
