I’m not voting Republican November 2 because I have a memory
Posted on October 31, 2010 by Andrea
Ok, I know I’m skating on thin ice with some of my friends and family for passing this along, but here goes:“For all the people who forgot who left us with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. Who took a country with a huge surplus and ruined it in 8 years and who wants to blame and expect the current administration to have it fixed in a couple of years. This is for you. I’m not voting Republican on November 2nd because unlike the Tea Party I remember.
I remember which party defends tax breaks for corporations that move their operations and YOUR jobs overseas.

I remember that “nobody knew” the levees were going to break.

I remember which party was in power when my hometown of New Orleans was under water during Katrina.

I remember which party started a needless trillion dollar war in Iraq.

I remember which party took a record budget surplus and turned it into a record budget deficit.

I remember which party believes that spending money on OUR nation is wasted money.

I remember which party brought us the Wall Street bailout.

I remember which party believes in states rights unless a state passes a law that doesn’t coincide with their narrow point of view.

I remember which party blocked health care for our nation’s 9/11 first responders and clean up volunteers.

I’m not voting Republican this year because I have a memory.

I remember which party dismantled the government agencies that protect our food supply, thereby providing my family with poisonous lettuce, spinach, meat and eggs.

I’m not voting Republican this year because I have a memory.

I remember which party believes that the only problem with our nation is the wealthy don’t have enough money and enough freedom to pollute our air and water.

I’m not voting Republican this year because I do have a memory.

I remember which party worked tirelessly to destroy Social Security, Medicare, public education, civil rights, and equal pay for women.

I remember which party believes that by giving our government less money it will somehow have more money.

I remember which party was in power during every major banking crisis since 1900.

I remember which party cannot hear the screams of the people but the whispers of big business.

I remember which party wants to “take our country back” and I remember which party wants to take our country forward.

I’m not voting Republican this year because I remember.

On November 2nd, you should remember too. As they say, never forget. Don’t vote Republican on November 2nd and do our country a fa

The President, the Vice President, the members of Congress have a medical plan that meets their needs in full, and whenever senators and representatives catch a little cold, the Capitol physician will see them immediately, treat them promptly, fill a prescription on the spot. We do not get a bill even if we ask for it, and when do you think was the last time a member of Congress asked for a bill from the Federal Government? And I say again, as I have before, if health insurance is good enough for the President, the Vice President, the Congress of the United States, then it's good enough for you and every family in America.
----------
The serious issue before us tonight is the cause for which the Democratic Party has stood in its finest hours, the cause that keeps our Party young and makes it, in the second century of its age, the largest political Party in this republic and the longest lasting political Party on this planet.
Our cause has been, since the days of Thomas Jefferson, the cause of the common man and the common woman.
Our commitment has been, since the days of Andrew Jackson, to all those he called "the humble members of society -- the farmers, mechanics, and laborers." On this foundation we have defined our values, refined our policies, and refreshed our faith.

Justice has prevailed, I bet old GW is havin a hissy, since his appointed Supreme court judge jumped ship and got on board the Obama train.

When Romney wins, how about if he just announces he's not going to enforce this law?
.
That's what Ceasar did with imigration laws.

We must not permit the Republicans to seize and run on the slogans of prosperity.

----------

We heard the orators at their convention all trying to talk like Democrats.

----------

They proved that even Republican nominees can quote Franklin Roosevelt to their own purpose.
----

The Grand Old Party thinks it has found a great new trick, but 40 years ago an earlier generation of Republicans attempted the same trick. And Franklin Roosevelt himself replied,

-
"Most Republican leaders have bitterly fought and blocked the forward surge of average men and women in their pursuit of happiness. Let us not be deluded that overnight those leaders have suddenly become the friends of average men and women."

----------

"You know," he continued, "very few of us are that gullible." And four years later when the Republicans tried that trick again, Franklin Roosevelt asked, "Can the Old Guard pass itself off as the New Deal? I think not. We have all seen many marvelous stunts in the circus, but no performing elephant could turn a handspring without falling flat on its back."

The Congressional Budget Office's just-released economic forecast for 2013 is dispiriting, to say the least. The GDP is expected to grow by only 1.4%, the unemployment rate will "stay near" 8%, the deficit will reach $845 billion, and ObamaCare will cost 7 million their health insurance. The American people will soon grow tired of this.
