Indeed the public schools having proven over the years that they are not working for the Christian way. School policy is directly connected to the government, which in turn is connected to the White House, which is connected to money, power, and the Devil himself.

Bottom line is that if you're at all concerned with your children's well-being then get them out of public school and put them in an excellent private school, or better yet, homeschool. I took my daughter out of public school for homeschooling and don't regret it a bit. It's work but SOOOO rewarding to see your child avoid all the behaviour problems from other children. Get them into a more controlled social environment like swimming and gymnastics and let them have growing relationships that way. Most kids DREAD sitting at public school and this breeds alot of bad behaviour due to the time on their hands just sitting round getting dictated to all day.

There will be no solution to the SEX ED problem with schools because it should not be there. This should be taught by parents, not teachers. Besides, since the school system is so screwed up and after the patriot act came along to mess up our kids even more you would be better off getting your kids out.

It's about time someone steps up to the plate and focuses on the core issue -- abstinence is the MOST EFFECTIVE WAY to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Obviously glorifying and promoting teen sex isn't working on either level.
I firmly agree:
"Rather than teaching that condoms and birth control pills are acceptable modes of behavior, students will be taught they're not safe, acceptable or healthy and what is acceptable is abstinence."
"... sex education teachers can still teach about forms of birth control, but they must emphasize that abstinence is the only 100 percent effective method to avoid health risks. She said a new approach was needed because sex education classes in the state have failed to cut the rate of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases." ~ Sen. Mary Lazich
And with a 24-9 approval -- amazing!
Once again: A stampede of ignorance and falsehood. Not a single scrap of truth in here.

1. Abstinence education actively helps increase teen pregnancy and disease rates.

2. "Obviously glorifying and promoting teen sex isn't working on either level." <-- What does this mean? "Obviously"? Sounds like straw man dressing to me.

3. Teaching kids about condoms and birth control does nothing but help them.

Wouldn't you rather have fewer teen pregnancies, fewer abortions and less disease? Wouldn't you?

Let's see if I can slip a false dilemma under your radar:

Either you support abstinence-only education and the abortions and disease that go with it, or you support comprehensive, honest sex ed and the benefits that go with it.

Oh, wait -- what was the third option?

I considered home-schooling my kids at one point, but was concerned about their socialization with peers, so I left the final decision up to them. They opted to remain in public school because of their friends, but now as they are older, 2 of them are seriously considering home-schooling their own children. While I don't want to sway them either direction, personally I do hope they choose to - things are getting so out of control and I can't imagine what it's going to be like for my granddaughter when it's time for her to start school.
