There is no reason the taxpayer should pay for the poor. Ignorance prevents them from stop having children they can not afford and educate. The children increase the taxpayer burden more and more. If we make it difficult for the poor to survive in our town they will move to places like the west coast that have plenty of money to handout.

Mississippi outlawed educating blacks for hundreds of years and then when forced to educate them they offered only inferior schools that were geographically and financially out of reach of the vast majority and now you wish to blame them for their lack of education.......... Are you really that thick headed? Your grandfather cheated them, your father cheated them and now by god you're determined to follow in the family tradition. Chances are your children will get an education and move to a politically BLUE city and enjoy life and that will break the cycle. But you'll spend the rest of your days complaining.

My grand parents came here poor and with nothing. No education. My parents lived during the depression and lacked a full public education but they did not stop them from using their abilities to be successful. It has little to do with a cycle and much to do with genes and culture. People that have children they can not afford and are not willing to sacrifice everything to make a better next generation have no body to blame but themselves.
There is no reason to spend on drugs, big wheels, shoes, playing games, entertainment, sports etc. if you care about making a better next generation.

Many blacks moved north and do not make their communities any better. Look at Chicago, Detroit, etc. I had nothing when I went to school in Chicago yet became better off than my parents. I paid for it working at jobs like pumping gas in very cold winters.

Tell me in the south why do we need playgrounds for those that are not ambitious? Every HS student needs to be providing for there families as well as working on their education. Forget football and basket ball they do not pay for food. Oh but they get free food?

The few wealthy families in Tupelo make sure all their workers pay the taxes in Tupelo and provide all the freebies to the entitled. It’s makes the rich folks feel good and keep their pass to heaven. Birth control is never discuss at the boys and girls club nor on the basketball courts in the parks. The opposite may be discuss as a daily activity in the blighted neighborhoods. The baby mammas will not get married nor go to work, their monthly benefits would be less. The annual raise is after another baby is delivered at the not for profit entitlement hospital? Another 300 years from now the same old excuses will be used to explain ignorance and lazy.

Learning is hard work so that leaves you out of the equation like so many of your neighbors.

The working taxpayers are fed up with Jason Shelton and his foul mouth Nettie and the momentum is building to impeach them for tag teaming and talking down to the poor council members.
More Freebies

Memphis is the model town for Tupelo and so free mass transit is a requirement. All the working families moved out of Memphis years ago and now the city buses are empty. The white flight out of Tupelo is right on schedule with Memphis with the nearby towns and communities growing rapidly while Tupelo has no population growth other than through annexation and the tax collections decline due to the drop in sales and more and more city purchased blighted properties lowering the tax base. The only tax increase in Tupelo’s taxes are mileage rate increases and over bloated appraised values. Tupelo’s bubble has popped and the little town is fooling no one with their purchased awards and Obama’s economic stimulus sidewalks and buses and airport funds. Tupelo is a fake town trying to keep the uprisings and marches downtown main street.

There are plenty of black churches run by educated blacks than can explain about birth control and the sin of taking handouts. It is the black culture that refuses to learn from past mistakes. It happens in other cultures but they just die out due to the ignorance. The slave culture wants to be taken care of.

Buses

Tupelo, MS

#10 May 23, 2018
Take a good look at how much Tupelo has declined since foul mouth Nettie Davis took office. Buses will do nothing for downtown main street nor provide a means of collecting more taxes. Taxes are not paid on EBT sales nor illegal drug sales. The buses will provide another distribution method for the drugs salesman at the expense of th3 working families.

Bottom line is Tupelo doesn’t need public transit, it’s going to clog up the tiny town, drain the taxpayers and be a huge failure. All these “services” and a tiny population paying for them, the pool, sidewalks to nowhere, baron dog park, on and on.
The towns not growing, and won’t until it gets a handle on its schools, police department, high taxes, overvalued homes and job opportunities, you know the basics of why people choose reside in a town.
Tupelo Needs

Tupelo needs an adult full time mayor and new council that is willing to work on Tupelo/s problems instead of dodging the problems. The fact is that the little town of Tupelo is in a make believe world. Tupelo chases any federal match money as an excuse to do stupid things that simply are not needed and do not work. The cost of mass transit for Tupelo is unjustified and is the cost of quiet train crossings. Jr Jack proposed for Shelton to spend millions on the two crossings near the Reed family property downtown main street and ignore all the other crossings. This is called corruption and being dishonest. Tupelo is now a corrupt town with politicians on the strings of the few rich families that want to make all the decisions. Wake up Tupelo. It is time for Tupelo to stop the crazy spending and take notice of the white flight and middle class working families that have moved away from the high taxes and no discipline in the schools. Where is the crime rate out of hand? Who are killing each other over drugs? When will Tupelo decide to enforce the law? When white collar crime runs the town, it is impossible to enforce anything.

The rich families in Tupelo are getting what they want from Shelton and his beer drinking buddies in city hall for sure. The republican party in Lee county will have a candidate for the next election to oust Shelton for good. Shelton will never be elected for any other office in the state of Mississippi. Jason Shelton has played all his cards and he is history.
Obama Funds

Tupelo, MS

#14 May 24, 2018
The economic stimulus funds from the Obama era sitting in the bank in Jackson will soon be gone and the Tupelo taxpayers will be burdened with a free mass transit bus system as effective as the Obama and Nettie sidewalk to the mall. When will the city of Tupelo be released as a hostage of the foul mouth Nettie and her boys Jason and Jr Jack? Tupelo will soon be nothing but a taxing little town with nothing but a heated and cooled pool for the few visitors. When have you been swimming in the $15 million pool that cost millions to maintain? Will you ride the bus downtown for a free cup of alcohol to go while buying a book or pair of socks? Tupelo refuses to repair the streets and the old sidewalks that are dangerous so you know the sidewalk from Green Street to the mall is a good example of the work of Nettie for her Green street constituents. LOL No one walks to work in Tupelo and no one will ride a bus to work. The cost of living goes up every month in Tupelo with no leadership.

There is no momentum for more freebies in Tupelo. The mayor and council use the excuse that everything they approve is for a limited trial basis. What did the design and manufacture of all the thousands of to go cups for the nest six months cost the tax payers? What will the Tupelo Ass transit wraps for the buses costs the taxpayers. Who will the city curtail the white flight giving in to more Nettie demands for her I had a dream of free transportation. The sidewalk from Nettie's Green street to the mall is a total waste of tax funds and no one walks to work pass Netties house.
What is Next

What will be the next freebie that the mayor and his Nettie come up for Tupelo's entitled? A free internet and cable service would provide much better prices and free delivery and no sales taxes. When will the city provide free cable TV for their entitled? Free busing simple is no longer effective when the internet is the growth area for news and buying of the needs of the people. Busing has never solved anything for the minorities in America. Only the old people will ride a bus and no one walks nor rides a bus to work in Tupelo.

More hogwash from the CREATE board of wealth and knowledge. The only momentum in Tupelo is the growth in white flight. The daily Tupelo paper has been rebranded. The Daily Create is now the Tupelo paper.

Mayor Shelton has promised two policemen to protect the drunks with to go cups downtown and will see to it. that each free transit bus will have a policeman riding up front on each mass transit bus. The free mass transit use will hav3 no sober riders.

"So my biggest concern," he says, "is, you know, right now I'm puffing, puffing, happy, worry-free, and then in 20 years I'll have to explain to my kids why I've developed popcorn lung — or some new form of lung cancer," Lavandier says. "Because I didn't know what the risks were of e-cigarettes. It terrifies me."
