why dont the usps just cut the postal workers pay 40%, rather than move the processing center from thomas street to memphis.

What doesn't make sense is the fact that the easiest way to save money for the USPS is to do away with Saturday mail. That, in theory, would decrease the expenditures by nearly 15%. Think about the money that would save on taxes paid in by the USPS, unneeded overtime, and from a mechanics POV the wear and tear on the vehicles, not to mention the fuel savings.....people need to get a grip on reality. Vote out your elected officials and make a stand for yourself!

the government only funds 1% of the USPS budget. the USPS is government owned, except the USPS has mostly been a self supporting service from the us government. it runs like a private business.
i still say cut the tupelo postal workers pay 40% rather than move the thomas street postal processing service to memphis. that way the citizens will continue to have the tupelo post mark on the letters, and the 6 postal workers can keep their jobs and go out and get a part time job at taco bell on the weekends.
