Annexed development wants Tupelo to accept its streets
The city of Tupelo reminds one newly annexed group of residents each time they drive home that their tax dollars won't pay for repairs and maintenance of their streets.

What the crooks at city hall do is make the residents pay an added tax to pay off any bond to build roads and it is charged by road frontage.
Being annexed is like being arrested and forced to pay a fine for no fault of your own.

Are the roads up to standard? If the roads were not properly built and the city accepts them the rest of the city's tax payers will be paying to tear out the bad and replace it. It would be worthwhile to get an engineer to examine the roads first and let the developer pay to bring his roads up to standard if needed.

All the city is concerned about is gaining more power and taxes. I say use the land at the airport for development and close the problem to the residents. The city is even too hung up on two different paths. If you want urban you have to build parking lots. If you want rural you do not provide the services.
