Agreed they ought to just let her out. Stupid sentence for a NON-criminal situation.

I know this woman and she has no prior criminal record. I, like someone else commented, have dealt with Judge Vaughn before. Only once, but he's a nasty individual. I don't know what she was thinkin', but I can tell you that my ex girlfriend murdered her husband, who also had 5 children, and she only received 15 yrs in prison. There's something wrong with that. Mrs. Harvey never told me what was going on, but I remember having conversations with her while this was going on. She never said what it was. Now I know why I lost contact with her. She's not a child molester....Overkill is the word that comes to my mind. She should be punished, but that sentence is outta control.

Fatty, those who know the Harveys were not shocked when she was arrested, or when she denied it and refused a plea deal. No one was surprised when the evidence was overwhelming, she still denied and was found guilty quickly.
No one is surprised she has been on appeal for 18 months, tanked her business (as did her slick husband, leaving a wake of unemployed people that relied on these saints) and moved out of town to live with her sister (and word is she never did, but apparently the bailbondmen are ok with that).
No one is surprised at this whole event. The 30 years is way too much. But they've skated around the law for years. It eventually caught them. Unfortunately, there were many victims...but the Harveys controlled it all (ok, maybe Chucky didn't control Denise and the 16 year old boy).

This is an insane verdict! How does this Judge sleep at night? Today in Ft. Lauderdale, a man who had purchased a Viet Nam girl of 5 years old and sexually assulted her until she was a young adult 33 years later got 30 years in prison! How do you compare the two cases? Maybe he said he was "sorry" so they took another 30 years off his sentence. Should she have been punished? Yes, of course, but even the 11 year plea bargain was way too much.

Another case a couple days ago, a south Fl. 16 year old boy was convicted of murdering his father and was given 15 years in prison. How can you compare death with consentual sex?

Her son will grow up without his mother and her husband without his wife. I would have run too. I hope they never find her.

30 years for something that would be legal in any other developed country, man the US justice system is f**ked up, you would probably get a lighter sentence for terrorist activities. at least Canada can't extradite here due to double criminality not being present, a standard principle in international law

Extreme sentences like this may sometimes go to women because they are women. There are men who do not like how women in the last 100 years or so have steadily gained equality with men. The thinking is, "well they want to be equal, we'll treat them like equals in all areas; especially when it comes to punishing them for sex crimes." That doesn't justify a harsh sentence like this by any means, but some people think it does and when they're in power they flaunt it. If it were up to me I would let Mrs. Harvey out immediately.
I can't see where anyone got hurt nor I can see where anyone will benefit justly by keeping Mrs. Harvey locked up for 30 years. What will that give to society when she returns to us 30 years from now after being in prison most of her life? A friendless bitter old lady, 30 years behind the rest of the world. No one will remember or care about her, and she'll be supported by the tax payers. She'll live the rest of her life alone in a one room apartment next to the railroad tracks in a dingy section of town where everything is rundown, and will never give another thing to any other person. Not intentionally anyway.

WOW thats f@@ked up. What 16 year old would'nt want to have sex with an older woman. I don't see how he was hurt in any way unless he is Gay. If that was my boy I would of handled it another way. I would not want to press charges on her unless my son did'nt wnt to have sex with her and she forced herself on him. 30 years is a long time for this act. Child molesters who rape children 8,9,10 year olds dont get that much time. WTF is wrong with this judge?
