Broward contractor loses license after customer complaints

The Construction Industry Licensing Board, acting on seven complaints from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, on Thursday revoked the license of TransFlorida Corp.

This is very suprising to hear. TransFlorida replaced my roof after Hurricane Wilma and I had no problems whatsoever. I will say, that I knew enough to have them sign lien waivers before I paid the final money, so if they did not pay any contractors they used, the contractors could not come after me for the money!

Unfortunately customers aren't required to be licensed. As a contractor I can tell you I wish they were. I've been cheated numerous times.
