It's never been about safety, reliability or groundwater contamination. It's about people with a vested interest in renewable energy companies eliminating the competition.

Slowly the people of Vermont are awakening to the reality that they have been lied to by the anti-nukes.

Recent polls have been around 80% in favor of keeping VY running after 2012. The Vermont regulators have all said that VY is safe and reliable.

And Shumlin knows that if he allows VY to shutdown the lost revenue for the state coffers will doom his agenda.

Shutting VY will be a horrible blow to the folks who live and work in Vermont.

What, 80% of five VY employees? You're clearly in your own reality separate from the one most Vermonters live in. VY is over, done. Get your resume in order.

Your ridiculous so-called 'polls' are in actuality a 'poll' as in ONE source, not two-Herald & Argus is the same poll, hate to burst that big bubble of yours.

It is not a scientific poll, meaning that pronuclear activists from around US who descend on these threads, including high level staffer from Entergy corporate, can vote 1000 times, or as much as they want, so you're fos once again.

None of the samples were ever 4 million picocuries. I assume you are making an honest mistake and will admit as much after you do a little research.

I am the high level Entergy staffer that you speak of. I get paid $250,000/yr to surf different websites looking for polls related to VY and then I vote for 8-9 hours per day until the poll closes. You outed me.

You are right, I misspoke, thanks for correcting me. It was 2.5 million pico curies.

What did they find in the rad waste piping tunnel?

There is a cookie silly you can only vote once, after that you just see the results. Unless you go to all the trouble to delete cookies on your computer.

Why am I not surprised that once again NSD doesn't know what she is talking about.

Once again not surprising that you,'solar bomb' does not know what you're talking about & another one of your oh-so-familiar crocks.

Cookie? Hmm. Kep trying. Everyone who has 'voted' knows yalls is fos, as all who have voted now know voting can be done ad nauseum.

Has anyone even bothered to read the last two paragraphs on the piece?

"For those who question the integrity of national regulatory agencies, it is important to note that a panel appointed by the Vermont Legislature determined that with proper maintenance, the plant could safely operate beyond 2012.

One of the great American storytellers, Charles Kuralt, wrote an essay about Town Meeting Day in Vermont. At the end of a long night a motion was made to adjourn. All those in favor were asked to say Aye. A large chorus of Ayes followed. Those who opposed adjournment were asked to say Nay. A much louder chorus of Nays followed. And so the meeting continued because citizens were not done speaking their minds and engaging in democracy. The time is long overdue for an honest and informed debate about the re-licensing of Vermont Yankee involving an educated and engaged citizenry. Let us commit to marginalize not scientific knowledge or a holistic assessment of energy choices, but sensationalism and inflammatory commentary that fails to educate."

Cause functionally nothing has changed from many years ago...they more control the inside information than they ever did. Canít have a discussion about VY unless we know what is really going on in VY.

We got a chance to reform the NRC and the nuclear industry.

Entergy is hell bent in putting their employees out of work.

So Mike, if you view that as the issue, then the first phone calls and letters that you write/make should be to the media which heavily edits all press releases from Vermont Yankee. I would say that this letter and the one by the owner of Everyone's Books should have been printed in their entirety side by side on the front page of every paper in the state. It is this kind of honest "conversation" that truly results in informed Vermonters. What is actually occurring in this state is not news and it is not accurate, it is instead a media editorís campaign, deliberately editing in order to sway their readership.

P.S. Arnie Gunderson has recently proposed to further censor information available to Vermonter's. He is attempting to impose his will on the Vermont Department of Health. Perhaps the second phone call you make should be to Arnie.

I have news. I am happily married. Mike is also. Mike & I agree on little & have had bitter disagreements.

And you are wrong. Mike defends the employees dummy. I do not as over 2/3 not even VTers. And you are no different or better than anyone else, though in your complete arrogance you seem to think the world revolves aroung nuclear industry & employees. More news: It doesn't!

And more news. FYI: Yankee is closing on schedule in 2012. No one is making this happen but Entergy themselves. They destroyed their chances by failing to fulfill criteria necessary to be relicensed! Get over it & yourself, VT nor grid needs you so kindly suck it up & move on.

Since YOU are the one who's 'really angry', I suggest YOU relax & get over it.

Any facts to back that editing fairy tale, I Vote Vermont Yankee? Prove it or zip it! ALL stories are edited, w/exception of the acres of op-ed propaganda submitted by your bosses, Entergy subsidiary & propaganda ministry VTEP.

Some news never even made it into print. Others not reported to media by Entergy. Some were in one paper but not others. Coverage has been spotty though you have long cried & complained about 'bias' & media targeting Entergy, another crock.

Others were not followed up on, therefore those who do not follow the story & up to date on all issues would not understand the import.

Hate to burst your big gigantic bubble, but Entergy, VTEP nor their reps to Topix do not get to control the VT media, demanding what should be on front page & how it should be formatted, nor the content to their liking. If you do not like it, or the way VT does things, you're in the wrong state. Vote w/your feet & leave.

Our public agencies & workers are to represent our interests, not Entergy or VTEP.

Not being allowed to use VT state websites any further for their mangled monitoring results aka propaganda is not 'censorship', but those like yourself will not be able to point to VT state website & declare info official any longer, the true reason you're frantic & up in arms.

If Entergy wishes to control the news about itself they can use their own website, or subsidiary VTEP, not the msm or VT state websites as neither are Entergy's personal private press secretary.

Well, the media censures everyone...every one is not happy with those guys.

Entergy VY has its own web site...it is their choice they give us rudimentary and wooden PR statements. It is their choice they don't put most of their VY documents on the internet. It is their choice they don't answer questions from members of the community.
