Walmart Seeks Northbrook Location

Swell, just what this region needs, more Wal-Marts and/or the imposition on taxpayers to offset Wal-Mart's below basic costs of living wages. Many Wal-Mart employees get paid so little that they're eligible for food-stamps, section 8 housing subsidies and medicaid - the latter of which are all paid for by tax-payers.
The Wal-Martinzation of American isn't good for Americans, though it might put more money in the pockets of the executives and shareholders of Wal-Mart and slightly improve the standards of living of those in the 3rd world where Wal-Mart sources so much of their product offerings.
Wal-Mart's a leech on tax-payers, pays below subsistence wages and off-shores what were formerly American jobs. Boycott 'em and don't let 'em expand.
