I feel much better that this happened. The times I was in there truly disgusted me. Topless girls, porn, drugs, minors,(bean bags is weak and prolly get thrown out but 2 run-ins in 2 months with the police...) I'll go to a strip club for that...
Even the people that are sticking up for fuel KNOW that sooo many drugs go in and out of that place. Just like every single one of the previous places there. The managers (who people think are owners) fell into it, you think they dont know/do about whats going on in there bar.... cmon... when it get's that excessive it's not right.... notice it's only busy few times a night.... like someone else said... it's not about the food....
They lose the liquor license... they're gone... I'd be happy about it.

The selling of cocaine and marijuana are issues that would most definitely red flag and better be able to be explained as to how this was occurring. Over serving customers is another trigger point that is disconcerting. The under age 20 year old could have got in without the door seeing her or she had an id, after all she is 20. When does she turn 21?
Definitely not well run as far as management is concerned, then again, been in any bars lately? They all for the most part could use a few management courses.

I think someone from the Annex called in. The owner got mad when people started telling his customers about cheap beer and more girls at Fuel Bar and grill. What bar don't have drug dealers or users. I remember Burgerking drive thru you could buy coke. I thought it was one night on topless girls. I have bought liquor from most bars and liquor stores in mundelein when I was 17 years old. That was a long time ago and it has not changed yet.

Pay attention: I'm about to make a rational statment, and I can count on one hand how many of the statements thus far make sense.

First off, to the people who say "they sell drugs everywhere": your argument is as useless as it is ignorant. Two, three, of fifty wrongs don't make a right. Cocaine is illegal - sorry. People should be able to go enjoy a beer without seeing cocaine dealt across the bar. In addition, the sales going on from the bartender and bouncer bring in users and dealers of cocaine. I urge any one of you to find a rational person who uses cocaine. I don't want to be around those people, nor should I have to be because some idiot bartender wants to make an extra buck.

Second, quit playing conspiracy theorist and thinking "MEG was there because other bars wanted them to put Fuel out of business!" MEG will respond and investigate any bar if they receive enough complaints, so if you don't like it at other bars, do something about it!

Finally, to those who say owners aren't responible: you're wrong, period. Name one job where supervisors aren't responsible for their subordinates. Bars are no exception, goes with the territory.

The bean bag thing is over the top. Many places have tournaments like that all the time. Along with put a dollar in and win a new flat screen. That is an illegal lottery done all the time every where. The drug thing and the over serving are things that violate the law and are reprehensible. How do the owners explain those things in any rationale.
Personally don't go into places where people care about how drunk they can get for as cheap as possible. Two dollar drafts, ten dollar pitchers...no thanks.

this was all blown out of proportion and yes the truth is every bar is upset about how quickly fuel took off . good people w/ a few bad unfortunatly but thats everywere . these owners are clean good people and i fell bad for them .if i lived in mundelein i would be p.o.'d that my tax dollars got mpd in the front door of fuel for a baggo turnament.. but they are living up to their rep . go mpd!!!!

I've been there once. Food was alright...service was awful @ best. Took @ least 10 minutes JUST to put our cocktail order thru and we were the only patrons in the place...other than the regular's @ the bar. Employee's were too busy socializing w/ eachother...including the manager, who didn't seem to give a sh*t about anyone OR anything. Do drugs on your own time...not @ a business where people are paying good money for a decent dining experience.

First I'd like to say I don't advocate cocaine use, but I have lived in Mundelein for almost 10 years and the amount of drugs that passes through this town is substantial. If MEG really thinks that they are making a difference they're sadly mistaken. I know of a house not to far from fuel and another bar IE (IR Mill) that sells cocaine and have for many years. Sadly we have to pay the over inflated salaries of thes usless task force. Fact is this is a free country and I think it's quite evident that the DEA and other agencies are failing misrably. If people want to waste thier life away doing coke, let them not your problem.

I have never been to this bar, but i find it offensive and out of control... allowing people...including the waitstaff and customers to feel free to buy cocaine and other substance drugs...what has this world come to... how can owners allow their place of business be turned into a crack house... its only a matter of time b4 everyone gets locked up!!! And I also heard there are other well known business owners from the mundelein area who sell and use drugs themselves... well known... respected business owners... so the next time your their watch out!!

do you even know what your talking about !! you sound ridiculous!!! total sales out of all of these people were 70 dollars!!! combined . the newspaper and cops have blown this all out of proportion and if people new what really happened they would see what a joke this is . NO ONE allowed any drug use!! you cant strip search your customers . unless you know of somthing that i dont. and have you ever seen mtv... that was the porn they were talking about girls in their nighties. But i guess at the same time i cant blame you i mean you have fallen right into the media trap ..thats why they write the things they do to pull people as vulnerable as yourself in. If i live in mundelein i would be po'd considering this was a 2 month investigation and they got bean bag gambling (10 bucks a person ) and 70 dollars worth of drug sales that where idiot customers and 1 employee ,,,,, hmm there goes your tax dollars well spent !! go park on any corner in mundelein and i guarantee you meg would have had a larger bust !!I love a comment another poster put on a blog ... if a cashier at walmart was dealing cocaine to another person outside of walmart as did the people /customers in fuel would you shut it down ??!!

Hey Reader, WELL PUT! And as for the comment about WALMART...that was yours truly, CORRUPTION! I'm BACK!

As for ABC2008...ARE YOU SERIOUS! YOU WAITED 10 MEEZLY minutes for a drink? Were you OK? How did you ever survive? I didn't know socializing was against the law? Socializing creates good atmosphere and if socializing is too much for you....then you should head to the big paddded room and wrap yourself in the twisted suit and blab away! Personally, I like a man with a good personality - who is socialable. It is evident you are probably the quite, lonely, disturbed downfall of our species...who spends a lousey $10 and cries about it.

You guys are actually sticking up for the douchebag clientele that patronize Fuel?

I've been to many bars and none of them matched the sausagefest, machismo atmosphere of Fuel. The only chicks in the place were bleached blond, fake tanned cosmetology grads of which I'm sure daddy is proud. Let me tell you ladies something. You don't look any hotter when you purse your lips in photos. Try something different.

Also, a good rule of thumb: The lameness of a bar can be determined by the number of Pontiacs in the parking lot. There must have been 15 there on my visit.

Good riddance to this crap hole.

I have been to Fuel many, many times from a weekday afternoon to a Friday or Saturday night.
I've met the owner and the manager; both are great guys especially the owner. He's always so personable, greeting regulars by first name. Makes you feel like you're at "Cheers". As for the drugs, I know that they only found (between the bartender, bouncer and patrons) an amount the size of a coffee sugar pack . The owner had absolutely NO DRUGS on himself or in his office or anything. It was the other guys mentioned above. Again, I can think of quite a few businesses and huge corporations off the top of my head that their employees are using and/or selling right in the buildings. Doesn't mean that the managers or owners know that. There are kids selling drugs in the classroom when the teacher has her/his back turned; better arrest those teachers too. It's true that the media made a huge deal about it because they need to sell papers and would you bother reading the rest of the article if you found out that beforehand. About the baggos, give me a break. I've been there when patrons were playing, the bar never participated in the games EVER!!!Check out Anex's flyers, guess what, they do the same thing but nothing will be done about that hu?? The MPD should park in front of all the bars in Mundelein and plan a sting too because I'm positive they'll find 100X worse things in their bars. Fuel is the nicest thing to come to Mundelein in a long time.

drugs at a bar, imagine that!

a year-long investigation to arrest someone for a tiny bit of cocaine and marijuana?

PATHETIC

MPD should be ashamed of themselves for squandering our tax dollars on something so trivial.

You obviously don't know how to read, you f*ckin' jerkoff. What I said was "Took @ least 10 minutes JUST to put our cocktail order thru and we were the only patrons in e place...other than the regular's @ the bar." When there's only 2 ppl @ the bar and noone in the restaurant, I do expect to get faster service. I said...it took 10 minutes alone, JUST to put in our order. Which means it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks. DUMBASS.
