My prayers go out to your niece and her children. Hopefully the baby makes it through this but you've got to ask yourself what was she thinking no seatbelts, doing 90 miles an hour, no drivers license. Driving like that at that time of the morning with kids in the car is just stupid. Two dead children for recklessness, your niece will have to live with that for the rest of her life.

Seriously?! If I had heard about this and knew that she was coming into my ER, I would not treat her. She needs to be put in prison for that irresponsiblility. You just killed two of your own children with your stupidity. I hope something worse comes her way.

I feel sorry for the existing family that have to deal with the fall-out of her stupidity.

On the other hand, since she was a Michigan driver, maybe she was nursing the child/ren - remember the other Michigan mother that was caught on the Turnpike nursing her infant, driving and was unlicensed. All she got was a slap on the hand.

Irresponsible drivers should be dealt harder - don't allow them to drive ever. Don't let them have or allow to go near a vehicle during their life.

This mother will have to live with the fact that she could have prevented this tragedy. My prayers go out to the family as GOD tells us to forgive. The state can not give a more severe penalty.

Irresponsibility is a negro thing, should have kids buckled-up and been well-rested before embarking on an interstate road trip.... shame!(Did I mention getting a licensed driver to drive?).

my heart aches for those poor children. i can't even imagine what they went through. i only pray it was quick. i've lost a friend in a car accident where he was ejected and the pain you feel never leaves. i'm sure their mother is punishing herself more than we ever could. its a senseless, avoidable death and i hope that, as we learn more, we will understand what happened in that car that resulted in this horrible tragedy. hopefully this can serve as a wakeup call to the mother that she needs to get on the right track because she has forever lost her children. she has to live with her decisions for the rest of her life.

well, at first I couldn't believe that someone would pack their children and infant in the car, and not concern themselves with whether or not their family was safely buckled for a roadtrip. But after reading the details, it's no surprise to me. It's pretty safe to say that this is a perfect example of how ghetto families view their children as a paycheck. It's funny how the driver and passenger were buckled, but couldn't take the time to be a responsible parent and check on those children traveling 700 miles. Their irresponsibility and selfishness manifested itself through an innocent infant not even secured it's baby seat. Anyone want to wager on whether or not mother of the year was receiving our tax dollars through liberal entitlement programs to "care" for these children? Real parents who have children to love and grow families, don't let an infant and two children travel through 3 states without seat belts. And all of this without even mentioning her driving record! But that's racist!!, right? LOL

I feel for the family but she was driving without license and the kids was not buckle up as sad as this is she needs to be charge with a crime because she chose to drive and not have the kids safety in mind. I am not heartless to the woman but when I get into a car I tell everybody to buckle up whether they like it or don't and they always comply. We need to look at her action no license , kids not buckle up, and driving sleeepy this was a accident waiting to happen and the kids pay the price for moms carelessness. At least she should never have a license.

You know, this is a sad story, but at the same time, it could be a helluva lot worse then it was. Why in the world would she and the passenger think so much of themselves as to wear a seatbelt, but not strap her BABY and the two children in! I got so bleeping angry when I read how THEY were wearing seatbelts. Did she think the car seat was going to protect her child without it being buckled??? THis had to have been an extremely painful way for these children to go, and I pray God takes care of them in Heaven. The mother deserves to grieve for being so reckless.
