I came thru just as the police arrived,it happened on the east bound side,A man was holding a lifeless body of small child. A woman was following him crying. I heard on the CB radio that there was a body in the right travel lane and another on the left berm of the west bound side. This is very sad to hear, may God be with the family.

That's so tragic. I'm sure fatigue played a part in it. Travelling that time of night, with poor weather as well. We'll keep the families in our prayers.

Ohh how horrible!

Most car accidents can be avoided.

This is why it make sense to use a device that will keep you from dozing off at the wheel. My thoughts and prayers go to everyone involved including the rescue teams.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this family. I have a 10 year old and I can not stress to him enough how important it is to wear a seat belt at all times, regardless of where he sits in my minivan. Why didn't the parents make these kids have on seat belts? Regardless, it's still a tragedy!

We were just behind the accident and stopped to help. It was a terrible crash that had enough force to throw two children across an entire highway. If we were just 2 seconds sooner we woud have been a part of it. The minivan was traveling extremely fast and almost ran into our trailer on one occasion before going around and speeding by us at almost 90. The man in the pt cruiser wasn't as lucky as we were

Although I don't understand the 5 mo old not being in a car seat, I can see where the older 2 may not have been. We used to lay down to sleep in the back seats of our van all the time when we traveled when I was younger. It's not an excuse, I would not allow my children to do the same nowadays, but I can see maybe why they were not. What a horrible tragedy! My heart goes out to the families involved.

I just heard on the news that the mother did not have a license. What was she thinking! The children should have been in seat belts - it's the law! This is a good example why we have to pass laws for people who don't use common sense! I will pray for this family!

Maybe if the laws were tougher for people driving without a license, two children might be alive today. Patrick and Jerome better see prison, they failed as being responsible adults, and protecting that which is so special. My prayers are with the children.
