What has happened to the program? Used to be a Class B powerhouse. What is going on? It seems they can barely fill a team.

Easy answer Kids don't respect coach, all he does is yell crap you can't understand. Doesnt look the same as years past. No tilts or cradles or aggressive takedowns. Im not sure what they work on at practice. Obviously not the right things. And the kids programs seem to be lacking too. There hasnt been intrest it seems. There arent many kids moving up from middles school. I think it is the same coach. They should promote Valentine. They say he ran a powerhouse program wherever he came from.

Well several kids for the last 15 or so years have done well at the huskerland state tournament. Then they do nithing at the high school level. I wonder what that means. i think the mcaffee kid won state a couple times in kids club, and failed to even qualify for high school. Same with the cambell kids. Wissman, Dusty O, Josh Kaster, K Gilkerson would have all ben state champs if they had a coach. I agree Valentine should take over.

Lazy kids that didn't want to work. If you start to believe your the best and then fail to bust you butt to try and get better you will not improve.

Its a matter of pride. You think the kids club is lacking? Come on up to the mat and help us out im sure you were a very successful tiger wrestler! its not just Falls City, many other small schools are slipping. Too many video games and not enough physical activity. Just my thoughts.

Brad, I agree with you about the video games and physical activity. I don't think anyone was singling you out. You were a great wrestler and I think probably a good coach. But you have only been up there for a couple of years. I havent seen any of your wrestlers at the high or middle school level yet. Mike is a turd though. He only wants to coach when it is conveient for him. About the other small schools. Syracuse and Neb City are in our district I think and they have been progressing well with young hungry coaches. I think Windle has lost his drive. I heard he told some kids not to go to a camp but each year he takes them to the Wilber camp where all it is is a big thump session on our boys. They dont wrestle year round and are heavy and the other boys are usually close to their normal weight and in shape. There are a bunch of live duals, and not much is learned or accomplished. I saw a kid named Austin Wilson who wrestels for Nebraska now run these tilts at a national tournament a few years ago. he used probably 5 different tilts...One from a standing position. Doubt our boys know more than one.

Nothing about them in the paper on Tuesday night. Yet, Humboldt coaches sent their info into the journal. Maybe FC coach was too busy.

An assistant coach needs to be put in charge of this.....hence the name assistant!

If you think you would be a better coach just step right on up there and try. I'm sure they'll gladly take you on since you know so much about the sport. Or you are probably one of those that knows so much more until asked to show or teach what you know and you just cower in the corner...

All i'm saying is if you think you could do better then go volunteer and show these kids how the sport is supposed to be. Otherwise quit bitching about how the rest of the ones who give up their own time are doing..

Here's some good news in all this negativity. Morgan Valentine, a FRESHMAN, won the Crete invite on Saturday. There were several quality schools there. Nebraska City, Syracuse, both rated in the top 6 in Class B, and Central City, I think are in the top 2 in Class C. Way to go Morgan!!!!!

Well, the Valentine kid better have his dad coach him, or Windle will ruin him.

Wrestling is a great sport, teachs these young people confidence, self control, hard work and teamwork. I have moved alot been envolved in 4 different programs. Its seems that your always going to have people complaining. Its simple get envolved as a parent/helper. The best programs are a coach that knows how to coach the sport and who can get parents movtivated right along with the kids. What I have seen so far with wrestling, there is no shortage of kids getting envolved just shortage of kids staying envolved. There are parents that talk alot but no actions. Remember wrestling takes alot of time lots of practice and lots of mat time needed, if you as a parent are willing to obligate yourself dont expect your kid to or expect your kid to come out and pin everyone he wrestles. For a club to be sucessful, the parents got to be envolved and the club has to show up to meets as a team, represent their club, their family and support those on their team.
