You know, I'd be thoroughly ashamed to let our governor live in anything but a "mansion". That would reflect poorly on Texas citizens. As to the vaccinations for girls, probably shouldn't have been a law, but Gov. Perry did what he felt was right at the time. You know, just as obama and his thugs try to convince us that they, the congress, know what we need more than we do. IF there was any dishonesty in any financials, maybe not dishonesty, but just mistakes. Like those in DC right now who didn't think they had to pay income tax while living in their mansions and rolling in ease and luxury. You know, like that. Geithner and others. Like putting the fox to guard the hen house.

This is something I didn't know till last week, and I'll pass it on for those who are voting a straight ballot.
Why would anyone who possesses brain cells vote a "straight ticket" rather than vote based on various issues and solutions for each office?

Voting a "straight ticket" is just mindless "sheep" behavior performed by unintelligent and easily brainwashed and bullied people who are too lazy to actually find the issues on both sides in each of the office up for election.

So Gov. Perry lives in a mansion, where would you have the leader of the great state of Texas live? In a cardboard house in a park somewhere? As a citizen of this great state, I'm proud he's able to be in a place fitting for a person, Rep. or Dem., of the stature he holds.
The vaccinations thing probably shouldn't have been handled like it was. I had cervical cancer at a very young age and gratefully it was caught in time.
IF there was any dishonesty in financials, it was probably just a mistake, someone forgot, etc. See that's what obama's thugs who didn't think they'd get caught, said after they were made public.
Bill White is as dishonest and duplicitous as they come. All he can do is tell one lie right after another. I'd never vote for him or any other Democrat, and I used to be a Democrat.

Governor Perry got a $5,000 kickback from Merck, the makers of Gardisil. When did he get the kickback? THE DAY HE SIGNED THE VACCINE INTO LAW! In order to line his pockets, he put the lives of hundreds of thousands of pre-teen Texas girls at risk ... yes, GREAT Governor!

Knowing how tight money has been for everyone these past few years, Bill White took a pay cut, and asked his staff to take one as well. Rick Perry on the other hand, charges $9,000 per month on the tax payers back for a rental mansion while the governors mansion is being renovated. Seriously? Did he need a MANSION??? Could he have done with a 2000 sq. foot house? A mansion with personal chef's was necessary??? With the rest of his constituents tightening their belts and suffering in this economy, was it really the best decision to make the tax payers pay for his lavish lifestyle? CHARACTER of the man is important!!! Perry ... lacked character when it really mattered!

Wow! I was a republican, too! I voted for Reagan, Bush, Sr. and Bush Jr.(both times). I regretted it soon after the second time, when reports started surfacing that there were no WMD's, and when reports were surfacing that Bush was planning to remove Hussein from office BEFORE 9/11. Bush wrapped the "reasons" around his plan of action rather than the other way around. Then, when I noticed Fox News calling Obama a Nazi before he even took office, and calling him a failure as a president before he'd been in office 30 days (these just a few examples among many).... I realized, the republicans are no longer what they used to be. What a frightening realization to see what they've become!!!
ok just to clear things up, the media reported that there were no wmd's. take it from someone who fought in iraq and afganistan, we did not find complete missles or warheads. but we did find the chemicals to make them, the warheads to cap off the missle and so forth. so befor you start saying we didn't find them how bout you talk to a vet that was there, and not one that was there later in the war but one that was there when the war first started.

It's a myth??? WOW! Laughable!
Racial Profiling (according to the Department of Justice)
"Any police-initiated action that relies on the race, ethnicity, or national origin rather than the behavior of an individual or information that leads the police to a particular individual who has been identified as being, or having been, engaged in criminal activity." -Deborah Ramirez, Jack McDevitt, Amy Farrell for US DoJ
It's such a "myth" that we have laws against it!!!
well then your are commiting a crime!!! profiling republicans!!!

Not sure what "law" you are reading but it isn't Sec 8 USC 1324, which is found, in it's entirety, here:
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/8/usc_sec_0...
It does not contain the word "Hispanic", nor make reference to any race or nationality at all, nor does it make any reference to "INS", which does not even exist any longer, and makes only this comment as far as who is authorized to arrest anyone found to be illegal:
"No officer or person shall have authority to make any arrests for a violation of any provision of this section except officers and employees of the Service designated by the Attorney General, either individually or as a member of a class"
I have a copy of the law in my hand and I dont care about what some liberal publication propaganda has to say. I got my copy out of a real law book in a real law library at Sam Houston, and I bought a copy of the penal code in the campus book store. I'm not going to buy the entire USC editions to try and convince you of anything.

Don't be so naive and stupid. While I am a Rick Perry fan, I am not so gullible and naive to think that he deserves some sort of godlike worship . I personally think the " mansion " should be turned into a museum and the governors live where they choose at their own expense. We pay them a very substantial salary with numerous perks. It is not necessary to furnish a mansion with servants . Personally, I think the " mansion " would be the last place they would want to live. Downtown, old, musty, amid horrific traffic and gawkers always trying to get a glimpse of their hero. Grow up!!!

Well, Bill White isn't the governor, is he? As to his pay cut, he's grifted enough money to take care of himself in style, so it was mostly for show. If he was such a good cost cutter, why is the present mayor having to fix the fininacil mess he left behind?
Personal chef? Are you sure he doesn't pick up the cost for that?
Honestly, I don't see how anyone can crab about anything a Republican does after rooting for and voting for the obamas and pelosis and reids, franks, etc, etc.
Yes, money is tight everywhere, so why was nothing said against the fabulous shopping michele took to Spain at tax payers expense? It's not just Texas that's in a tight, the entire government is, yet the liberal elitest Democrats think it's ok to just keep on spending, spending and look at where they can tax the little people again and again.
I've had enough of the liberal elitest democrat thugs in office and the way they're trying to run the little man down.
I got this in an e-mail yesterday, but it's maybe an omen of things to come.

1) I am a vet (Navy. While I didn't serve over there due to knee injuries, my reserve unit did serve over there).
2) My husband is also a vet and served in Iraq (Navy and Army)
3) Ditto for my brother in law (who served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm/Iraq/and Afghanistan twice)(Marines)
4) Two of my nephews are currently serving in Afghanistan (Marines and Army)

Also, perhaps you should check out the Downing Street Memos. These are memos that were sent between Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Tony Blair. These memos admit that there were NO WMD's, and they also show how these men were trying to justify a war to the American people when there were no WMD's and when they couldn't link Osama Bin Laden to Saddam Hussein.

The Downing Street Memos also show that for lack of any legitimate purpose for overthrowing Saddam Hussein, Bush and his cronies decided to repeatedly violate the No Fly Zone and drop bombs in Iraq. In fact, the initial idea was to use an aircraft that was painted in UN colors to drop these bombs, so that Iraq would be provoked to fire upon a UN aircraft, therefore justifying military action against Iraq.

It's all there in black and white! Have a look-see:
