Looks like another tree-hugging liberal trying for his 15 minutes of fame. My God, what is wrong with just allowing the inmates to serve their time without having to condone the activities of this turkey. Dogs sleeping in crates in the cells with inmates? We all know where this will end up.

Inmates now days gets more then people outside of prison. FREE Education, Dental, Medical and when we try for a loan for education you are turned down thats stupid. I don't feel SORRY for any inmates they knew what they where doing and got caught they don't need special attention.

I guess you would all rather have the dogs euthanized...the prisons are rehabilitation centers...not torture cells...

And "Trouble" look out your window, do you really think you get less than an inmate...you have a very dull life then...

I think they should leave the dogs out of prison they didn't do nothing wrong. Thye are looking fo trouble when they do stuff like that. Take the jail baits out and put them to hard labor. No ands or buts. They did the crime let them do their own time. Don't get animals into it.

i believe that the inmates rehabilitating and training these dogs is an awesome idea. they need to give back to society and they are giving these dogs a second chance at life. choose life.

The dogs deserve better than this. I say put the tree-hugger in the cell with ole Bruiser The Horny-Toad prisoner. This might give the tree hugger the incentive for some better ideas.

Whether or not you should reward these prisoners is one thing but don't worry about the dogs. It's my understanding that they get treated very well.

They'd probably rather be in prison with someone caring for them than join that 3-4 million dogs/cats that are euthanized in shelters every year. Of course, I've never personally interviewed the dogs involved but I've got a hunch that they'd rather be alive than dead.

According to a documentary I watched on this, behavior problems drop fairly drastically in prisons that initiate this program. This is good for the guards as well as the prisoners.

Just another girly-man gimmick! Put those inmates to work....for the benefit of hard-pressed and deserving taxpayers.

Wonder why they are called PRISONS? Instead of being taught how to rehab/train dogs, they should be taught how to WORK and support themselves once released back to society.....and how to obey society's rules. When polls and stats are used to try to prove a point, red flags start popping up for me. This is just another gimmick by a girly one. Who knows, he's probably trying for his own TV show akin to the one now running.

I applaud you, Lori. So much said in such a little sentence. Let prisoners do something positive for both themselves and for society, too. I can't understand the logic in people's hearts that think this concept is bad.
