The officer testified that he asked Gosserand at the scene if anyone else was in the car. She said that her three friends were with her. There was no on else in her car.
Gosserand, her father, and the officer were in the ambulance headed to the hospital (originally BRG, but then PCG), when a belligerent Gosserand yelled AT HER FATHER "I'm going to fucking kill you!"
There is a bit of video of the accident taken from the Exxon station, but the only thing it really shows is that the vehicle Parker was in was stopped at a red light and then proceeded when the light turned green (so Gosserand ran the red light).
The defense tried to raise some chain-of-custody issues, but the officer came off well.
Gosserand originally didn't show up. The defense asked that her appearance be waived. When the DA objected and requested Gosserand be present, the judge ordered a recess so she could be brought to court. She and her mother showed up about 10 minutes later (in full wardrobe and make-up).
Does anyone know if the entire length of the street exiting from the back of the courthouse is one-way? If so, they ran a stop sign and sped down a one-way street going the wrong way.

I am watching and I hope and pray when this ordeal finally goes to trial, possibly over one year later in 2011, the whole world is watching. We must not let time permit us to forget the unnecessary death of Ms. Parker and the pain Mr Riviere endures. I am not acquainted with the families involved but I do know the difference between right and wrong. It is awful the way our country has allowed those with money certain privileges. Unfortunately, money buys freedom for many all too often. We must all remember..."Justice is not served until those who are not affected are as irate as those who are..." Just saying.....

First-hand knowledge. I was in the courtroom (and in the rear parking lot when the Gosserands sped off).

Then again, you saw with your own eyes the Gosserand family vehicle running a stop sign. Doesn't this family realize many are watching?!?! And Ms. Gosserand did not show up. That is blatant disrespect for the court. Would a person from a lesser income be allowed to go and get their family member who didn't feel their appearance was necessary while the court recessed?!?! When will the powers that be quit enabling this disrespectful behavior brought on by a sense of entitlement??? I want to thank you, anonymuss, for making the public aware the defendant's family, even after the death of Ms Parker and the suffering of Mr. Riviere, still thinks they are above the law. Children who grow to be adults who have no respect for the law are taught this behavior and quite possibly we have a glimpse into how Ms. Gosserand learned her lack of respect for law. As time passes, it becomes more and more obvious were it not for the public this horrible act would have been 'swept under the rug'. For those of us who feel ..."Justice is not served until those who are not affected are as irate as those who are..." again I thank you for keeping us informed. I applaud your courage, anonymuss, because I know life in a small town. Just sayin...

Just to clarify my post. They had a driver who picked them up at the back entrance of the courthouse in a white SUV, so it would have been him going through the stop sign and possibly driving the wrong way. I saw Gosserand and her mother run to the SUV, get in the back, and then the SUV sped off.

We must all remember..."Justice is not served until those who are not affected are as irate as those who are..." Just saying..... that was well said. i really hope that those like myself, who are personally uninvolved, are as irate as i am. an innocent life at the hands of money. that is bs. my heart goes out to the family, and i look forward to the day when justice is served.

Young Teri Parker was sacrificed on the altar of Victoria Gosserand's good time.
As she walked in court, she looked pretty remorseful, don't you think?

Haven't you people said enough about a one way street? OMG, how many post did it take you to clairify and say thank you? How many different threads do you need to talk about the same thing? And finally, how is it that you people need umpteen comments to say nothing? Don't worry about answering, I'm sure it will take at least 25 post to get to something.

Personally attacking me and anyone who voices their opinion will not change the fact that an enormous wrong was done to Ms. Parker and Mr. Riviere. Therefore Mr. Slim Jim, I will take however many posts I need to state my opinion even if it is repetitive and my hope and prayer is that the entire world turns their eyes on New Roads until justice is served because..."Justice is not served until those who are not affected are as irate as those who are..." AND I AM IRATE Just saying....

This is so extremely sad. I know all 3 people involved to some degree. It's so sad because Terri and Kyle had just gotten off from work and were riding home like they did every night. I saw them ride home together after work so many nights. This time, it ended tragically because of the negligance and irresponsibility of one person. I tried to look back on their Myspace pages today. All of a sudden, Tori's has dissapeared. Go figure. Kyle's has a picture of his Camry and a subject line that says, "Rest in peace, Miss Terri. You were deeply loved and will truely be missed." Terri's profile actually still exists. Her display picture is of her holding her little boy. She was a mother, folks. That's what makes it all the more sad. Let's all pray that they do the right thing and we get Terri the justice she deserves and that Kyle can heal physically and emotionally after losing someone he loved as well as Terri's family who have lost one of their own and a 2-year-old boy who has lost his mother.

:::::She is scheduled to return to the Pointe Coupee Parish Courthouse April 8 to enter a plea on one count each of vehicular homicide and first-degree negligent injuring. If convicted, Gosserand faces between five and 30 years in prison for vehicular homicide, the more serious of the two charges.
Defense attorney Rob Marionneaux told District Judge Alvin Batiste, who is presiding over the case, that it is possible Gosserand may not be available for the April 8 court session because she is scheduled to enter “treatment.”:::::::: WHAAAATTTT!!!!!
