The Tea Party & some Republicans have gone as far as suggesting the Democrats wanted this disaster to happen. Who on Earth would wish for such destruction? A blatant attempt to cover up the GOP's arm & arm teenage love fest they have had with "Big Oil". Right now it doesnt matter who's fault it is. What matters is that the People of the Gulf are made whole again. Unfortunatley Us & the future Generation are going to pay dearly for it, for a long long time. After the mess is contained, a full out interrogation needs to be done on BP & ANYONE involved.

Thanks for showing up, Obama. Responsible people are already taking care of the problem. Back to the White house for your chicken dinner.

Bears worth repeating. Both parties whored this one away, not that we don't need both clean seas and offshore oil:

Obama biggest recipient of BP cash

POLITICO (Washington)- While the BP oil geyser pumps millions of gallons of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and members of Congress may have to answer for the millions in campaign contributions they've taken from the oil and gas giant over the years.

BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company's political action committees -$2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.

According to FOXopinions resident "paid" political hack Bret Hume last week in a statement said "wheres the oil" . That in part of a conversation dismissing the entire event as something not of concern and minimal in enviromental impact . Prehaps the POTUS who watches FOXopinion daily because it is riviting, hard hitting and not "mainstream" reporting , was taking his marching orders from them . This like so many of you do . So whats wrong with his "delayed" response?

HA HA

On top of that, the oil giant has spent millions each year on lobbying - including $15.9 million last year alone - as it has tried to influence energy policy.

the oil and gas industry leans heavily Republican in its campaign contributions, and the 2008 presidential race was no exception. Republican candidate John McCain and his ticketmate Palin took in nearly three times the amount of money from the industryís political action committees and employees as did Obama and running mate Joe Biden: about $2.4 million compared with $890,000, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Obama, however, received about twice as much from British Petroleumís executives and PAC as McCain did:$71,051 compared with $36,649.

Since 1990, oil and gas industry interests have contributed $188.3 million (75 percent) to Republican candidates for federal office and $61.4 million to Democrats (24 percent), the center says.
