Boy Mayor John Callahan characteristically persists in misleading the public, in collusion with the Federal Emergency Management and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Following my complaints at Bethlehem Council's Oct. 16, 2007 and in response to that complaint, Callahan, FEMA, and Corp of Enginers promised to repair the powerful sump pumps installed in 1955 to mitigate flooding like that from Hurrcican Diane in 1955.

The officials of these three government entities also promised a thorough hydrogical study of the flood-prone area to be initiated in November 2007.

Here it is a year later, and none of these entities have kept that promise.. The government officials were just puttring the public off.

Perhaps the casino- goers will patronize the local businesses and restaurants now that the mall won't be there.

How is any of this good for Bethlehem? Sands has a long history of promising whatever is required for a licesense and toe hold into a community. They are then free to pursue their own interests without concern for the community. This is a big win for Sands - all Casino and no amenities. More union jobs to contribute PAC money to the politicians though.

So what do you want to do when you graduate? Clean rooms, work the pit, or be on the Vice squad?
why not
