He comes from the private sector where he created jobs, balanced budgets. So far all his opponent has to offer is loudmouthed declarations that she's a CPA and poor attempts to malign Wheeler.

Ted Wheeler is more old and new Oregon than most. His father Coley (Coleman) Wheeler was an old school lumberman that managed to get extremely wealthy in a very competitive business. Ted wears his wealth well. Ted is well educated, very smart, and the best treasurer Oregon has had in a very long time, maybe ever. After being treasurer for Oregon he will make a very good governor, senator, or some role to well represent the people of Oregon.

I voted for Weaver. My only contact with Telfer was in ~ 1985 when she did my taxes. Strangely, the year she did my taxes was the only year we had significant mistakes. Sure, anybody can make a mistake, but that doesn't mean I have to vote for 'em!

As far as I can tell the only sane candidate running for Oregon treasurer is Wheeler. We are lucky he hasn't decided to get out of politics to go back to the private sector, where he could make a lot more $ without having to deal with nutcases like his opponents and the drama of the public sector and media.
