Coburg sticks with its police force of 2

Full story: KGW-TV Portland

Maybe this sleepy Willamette Valley town of 1,000 residents north of Eugene doesn't even need its own police force.

Small as it may be, it is the home to 1000 people and we need to keep our police force and infact, add to it.
The town needs to give out more traffic tickets to the people that come in from Eugene and other towns to work at the main companies here. The drivers are rushing to get to work and race to make the signal lights. They take no concern for the residents that live here or the children walking on there way to school or residents who are also on their way to work or take children to school.
Also the big trucks take some of these corners pretty fast. And do not take notice to the 25 miles an hour speed limit. They do this a lot more now than they use to because it is a known fact that we have so little police help. Coburg is a safe place to live because we had police protection. What will it be if we have no police protection at all.

Coburg is a neat little town. I drive through it almost every day at least a couple times per day on my routes. I think you are exaggerating more than just a bit in your description of traffic.

Coburg used to have a stronger polie force...and they poached people on I-5 to meet their damn quotas to the extent that the State pulled some funding/positions. The Coburg Police Dept brought this on themselves. Coburg cops were notorious for being a-holes, and now there are two of them!! Funny how that works out, huh?

My comment regarding the traffic in Coburg is very true. Go park by the signal light on Pearl and Willamette around 7am to 8am and watch the race. You can view the similiar traffic around the noon hour. And the worst of all is after say 3:00pm, those leaving town taking S.Willamette into Eugene area.

And to the second comment. Yes, word had it a lot of tickets were issused, I know I got one, but I deserved it, paid for it and still pout about it 'now and then'.~J~

-I know all about Coburg Police. I was raised in Eugene and moved away when I turned 20.

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Pisces

Your mind is razor sharp today, making it easy to reach decisions and put your thoughts into words. Make the most of this articulate and brainy phase, especially if that means taking part in a discussion or putting your ideas down on paper. If you need to defend your opinions you'll manage to do so without sounding aggressive or dictatorial.
