Sigh - Here's MY Problem!!

What's my problem, you ask? Easily answered: I'm a 20 year old lady and I have no friends! I moved here 3 years ago and have only managed to meet crazy people inside a gas station. So on days like these, when I'm bored out of my mind and have run out of movies to watch, I feel tempted to bounce my face against the wall until I get a distracting concussion, or at least until the inevitable nerve damage takes away all feeling, and therefore turns off the boredom censor. Why, you may ask, don't I simply find a way to meet someone, such as finding some sort of activity to join? Ah good one. The answer to that is: I have no car! How awesome am I?! Seriously awesome, in fact. I'm surprised I don't have people lining up at my door to meet me! Nobody knows I exist except for my husband and my cat. Oh god, I'm going to grow up to be some lonely, cranky old cat lady who constantly wears a moomoo and yells at children to get off her lawn in the middle of a grocery store. Or maybe at a gas station, as I'm sure I'd fit right in. I'm a nerd, I get it. I play video games, computer games, and have even enjoyed playing...(drum roll followed by a dun dun dun) Dungeons and Dragons. Yes, I said it. But before you scoff and avert your eyes so you don't catch the second hand nerd-itis that is undoubtably emanating through the room by now, let me inform you of this last detail: I'm a PRETTY nerd. See? Doesn't that make it all better? For those of you who don't know, being a nerd is embarrassing at times, but if you're a PRETTY nerd, you are exempt from any responsibility that comes with torrenting and coding and playing nerdy games. It's the law, and breaking the law is wrong. One second.... yep, just read through all that I've written and now I know why I have no friends. Sigh. This pretty nerd is going to find a stable wall that could use a face print.

Very entertaining! Thanks. I know how you feel, but it doesn't seem to be a local problem, unless "local" means in your own mind. I suffer from these same feelings, but I suspect it's due to some personality disorder or some such thing. It seems to follow me around no matter where I live, but a few times and places I've lived I have run into someone who introduces me to their group of friends, but it seems totally by chance. It can go either way. Since there are less people here, I guess we have to work harder at it.

The mind is like a ship, but unless you plot a course your just drifting.
At the very least, teach yourself a foreign language. There are many good free Spanish sites, also use www.wordreference.com that has audio files for the correct pronuciation of spanish words.
Get yourself the Barron's text "Geometry the Easy Way". besides giving valuable math skills it helps you to think logically, and can make it easier to detect a lie.
Pick a topic you want to learn, maybe something with income potential, and stick to it like your a terminator robot sent back in time to kill the mother of your enemy.
There are blogs on a variety of academic topics.
