This is a great new law to put into effect. These companies are only taking advantage of the people who aren't making ends meet already. The next should be the auto & health insurance companies. They should be next on the list for gov. Ted Strickland to finally do something with

I think to lower the intrest rate would be better. I have them deveral time of the course a of a year. If you are in a bind and need cash fast. Its better then paying overdraft fees and other finacial institution charges. simple over draw of 10 dollars can lead to a charge of 35.00 overdraft and a 7 dollar a day late fee. bounced check is worse. They are concerned about work here in ohio, now the goverment wants to take more out of ohio. I think its wrong.

It is sad that people have to go to pay day loans, if that's were you are going you have not prepared yourselves. Things are going to get much tougher than thay are already.

Regardlees of how you feel about payday lending , the bigger picture here is our state government controling our finances . Just think 6000 more people will be out of jobs in our state , gas and food prices keep going up . The customers this industry serves are hard working Ohioans that just need help from time to time, just think what will happen to the bankruptcy rate when these people can no longer borrow money to get them through to the next payday. The good thing is ,the lawmakers that passed this bill are elected officials and we can vote them out of office .

I can see both sides of this issue. I have used these companies a couple times and they really come in handy. Their fees are high, but so are the bank overdraft fees.
I went and borrowed $200 because I forgot to write a check down. If I didn't get this payday loan I would have been in worse shape. I had 3 little checks go through that would have cost me $35 each. Because you know banks, they always pay the biggest check first so they can charge you more money for all the little ones that follow.
If the government is going to get invovled in this, then they should also go after the banks to pay out the smallest checks first, then there would not be as many checks bounce.

Bank overdraft fees are a lot steeper than any payday loan I have ever taken. It is alright for the banks to rob us but not for us to agree to pay the rates the payday loan companies charge? How much does the $35.00 plus $7.00 a day come out to in interest terms? I already had 2 checks that only put me over for a little more thn $2.00 end up costing me $56.00 and $70.00 respectively. And who does the state claim is robbing me?

5-8-6 6526....not a chance in hell MJM...you see, the person using the Eastway name has posted the information of many people on the DDN Forum. In fact, he even had the nerve to post one gentlmen's father's information to the site. He will drag family into a situation. Dennis is a coward and his computer should be destroyed at once.
