It looks like the mom managed to get her and her husband's butts kicked. Assault is wrong, but society could be a good bit kinder if people stop to realize the physical retaliation people are capable of. People, particularly women, forget how simply programmed people are, and that a butt kicking is closer than one may think. Especially when ones children are involved. Playground rules don't change simply because we "grow up."

Let me get this straight: She jumped on him, and he's the one charged with assault? Something's not right here...

Do people just stand there and watch a man punch a woman and not do a thing about it? I would've retreated to my car and knocked him over the head with a baseball bat ... let the cops figure out later who started it! I'd love to see a picture of this guy - let me see ... overweight, grease stained t-shirt on, and most likely about 12 teeth!

Whoever got physical deserves to go to jail. Harassment is meaningless and ineffectual but assaulting somebody physically, whether jumping onto someone's back or punching and kicking them, is criminal.

If Shana Jones did jump on the back of Starnes, then he indeed had every right to defend himself and she deserved to have her butt kicked through the goal post. The fact is that most violence is initiated by women nowadays so it is believable that Jones jumped on Starnes.

Man, 3rd grade football spurs this type of idiocy? What are they going to do when their kid is a senior in HS and they think he should get a scholarship - shoot the coach because he is playing a more talented kid ahead of their little darling?

And sorry - harrassing a coaches daughter is NOT okay, any more than jumping on his back.

These two failures of the process of natural selection got exactly what they deserved, unless they were goaded into it. And from the info released, it doesn't sound like it. I'm sure even their 3rd grade son is ashamed of how they acted. But then again - probably not the first time they have made butts of themselves in front of him.

Yes, if it had been democrats it would have been at a soccer match or avant garde poetry recital.

If this lady was indeed harassing the daughter of a coach, or any child for that matter, she deserves to be charged with bullying! This form of abuse needs to stop! How can we teach our children how wrong this is when they see adults doing it? The outcome of a sports event (no matter the age of the athletes) should never result in violence, however, if this crazy a** lady indeed jumped on the back of a man, then he was acting in self defense.

I disagree. They are great role models. I wish my Mom showed me how to tackle when I was in football. She is teaching these young, impressionable pee wee's proper form and technique. Now the coach here was demonstrating the proper way to throw a stiff arm into the defenders face. A broken nose was to show the importance of safety and why we should wear helmets on the field.

In the past we have been involved with the pee wee football, baseball, softball, tennis, golf and swimming FOR OUR CHILDREN! Let's take parents emotions out of the equation FOR OUR CHILDREN. I am sure this is not the first nor will it be the last incident, hope PARENTS GROW UP and do not past these genes onto THEIR CHILDREN.

At least there would be something for the kids to do, unlike with the republicans where then would have been no money for middle class kids to play.
