VANCOUVER, Wash. - A funeral has been scheduled for December 18 in Vancouver, Washington for Marine Sgt. Jason D. Peto, who died of combat injuries suffered in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said Peto died Tuesday at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland from wounds received Nov. 24 in Helmand province. Peto was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. Born in Montebello, Calif., he moved to Vancouver in 1990, graduated from Mountain View High School and attended Clark College. Jason joined the Marines in 2004 and married his high school sweetheart, Tiffany, in 2005.

I lived in Montebello for a time, and it's a beautiful part of California. So many great homes for sale out there. It's a shame to see someone from that area pass away. http://edwardsvillemls.com

I wonder if this is the same guy who grew up in my neighborhood and went to school with me? He has the same name and we grew up in Rosemead, California which is next door to Montebello. I remember him moving right around that time. Does anyone know if this is the same guy. He had a older brother named Gary and a smaller brother but do not remember the name. Thank you.

Yes this is the same Jason that lived in Rosemead, Ca. His older brother Garry and I am the younger brother. This was my brothers 3rd tour, the two previous were in Iraq.

By my memory, it wasn't a very long story. This was all the part that pertained to Montebello, so that was all I posted. Perhaps the family has the whole thing? Also, what about google cache? I don't remember how to use it, but it keeps things a long time.
