Coast folks must wonder why Stephany, Marie, Mary, Bettie, Judy and Gina have been fired from their jobs. All good counselors and helping people in need. Poorly run organization and gets worse. Are we really getting help with our credit and foreclosures or is it a show.

I felt that whole thing was a sham from the beginning. It was to replace that My Home My Coast program to help people get back into home after Katrina.... Another Sham!

the program is not a sham -- os observer -- it is the organization performing it. mostly about recognition and show.

Thanks for your input. All federally funded programs are taxpayer dollars. Some receive help while others don't. I have information from two of the nonprofits, IRD and Hope Enterprise and you usually get passed over. All of the nonprofits have a less than caring attitude.

I don't know about the forclosure assistance but I received a grant and purchased a house with the help of my home my coast...im low income with two children...i do not feel like I'm in need of signing up for welfare even though I could easily qualify...i bought a modest house within my budget and they were great to me...it took me over a year but I now pay less fire a house than I would for rent...they helped me tremendously

yu either qualify or you don't with mhmc, however, in foreclosure assistance, it is not so straight forward. it requires skill. when i call, i get differing evasive answers to my questions and concerns.

Well I did qualify for MHMC and like most I am low income. Like I said before I jumped through all their hoops, had a very inexpensive house lined up and the loan. The day I was going to sign I got a letter stating that it was unfortunate that MHMC had to drop me from the program because they did not distribute the assistance properly and lost their grant. Althought the grants were issued by federal guildlines and intended for the good of the people they are still only as good as they organization running them. Here I thought I finally caught a break after all my hard work and patients and it was just another gut punch. As for you Haha... I am happy for you and your family but for the gloating you can just Kiss my Grits!

I wasnt gloating....i have been in my house for over 3 years. I was dropped from the program for almost a year due to a lack of funds on there part. I had moved on and rented elsewhere when they called me back. I am sorry for your misfortune.
