I was wondering what idiot(s) set the High School Graduation for a Friday evening?? Does the school board fail to realize that some of us have to work and need our paychecks?? I had to miss a whole day of work to come to my grandsons graduation. I live 3 hours away and could not believe that someone in administration could be so stupid as to set it for a Friday!!! Friday is still a work day for alot of people and this was very difficult for me to be able to miss work. Of course my grandson comes first, but how do i make up the missed pay?? Did the administration not want to ruin their weekend or what?? And when are you ever going to do something about the horrible heat that us family members and seniors have to endure?? I noticed this year the graduation was much shorter than previous years. You only graduate High School once and this is a very special day in these young peoples lives to be rushed out the door because someone is to lazy to fix the heating problem. I'm sure if you set up some kind of donations for this that others would contribute or have the High School kids do some kind of fund raisers etc., so that air conditioning can be purchased so that us hard working family members can enjoy seeing our kids graduate. I was appalled at this years graduation and how it was conducted. I didn't get to keep my grandsons program as it was tore up as i had to use it as a fan before i passed out from the heat. This is totally ridiculous and needs fixed NOW!!!

the graduates voted on the day and time of the graduation. but I do agree that the heat was bad, there is no Air conditioning in the Jr. Hig gym but I do feel that they need to move it to the high school gym where there is air.

(1)The date was set a LONG time before, so there's no excuse for you not being able to take that day off long in advance.

(2)The students want it on Friday so they can party afterwards and on Saturdays. They can't handle getting up hungover on Sundays like their earlier couterparts. But that doesn't surprise with teenagers nowadays.

Many schools do their graduation on Fridays. Hell, I think Carter County did theirs on the Wednesday that they got out of school. But hell, somebody's always gonna bitch no matter what you do.

if u move it to high school about 3/4 of the people would not get in the door i agree that was stupid for not putting ac in that gym they knew that graduation would be held there. The seniors voted on time and day so blame them and your grandson for haveing it on Fri.

My grandson never voted on Friday, he voted for Sunday as he has enough sense to know that people like me have to work for a living. I don't know of any other school in my area that has graduation on a Friday and the traffic to get their was absolutely horrible since most people get off work from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. and I live 3 hours away. I'm actually surprised the administration even lets these kids vote since they don't let them have a say in hardly anything else at that school. I hope when someone keels over with heat exhaustion and has a massive heart attack that they sue the school for letting this heat problem go on from year to year. Yeah and I caught that to when the superintendant said it was the class of 2010. Pitiful is all i can say.

Oh and the comment on their was no excuse on me not being able to take off work since graduation was set along time ago, then that tells me you don't have a JOB!!! In todays economy their are thousands waiting in line for a job and it doesnt take much these days to be fired for missing work no matter what the reason. I am asssuming you are either a student or you don't work or you would understand my comment on the difficulties of missing and choosing whether i will pay my rent, eat, or put gas in my car for work.

I don't think your grandson voted for Sunday because Sunday was not and option it was Fri. or Sat. And graduation was always held at the high school up until the Jr. High was built and it went fine and I don't think most of those people even need to attend I honestly feel that it should be parents, grandparents and siblings, everyone else can see the pictures and attend the party.

The date was not set a long time ago. If that were the case, we would have gotten the graduation invitations earlier then what we did.

What I think is ridiculous is how they let people in after it has started. Personally I think the doors should be closed and no person be able to enter or exit til it's over.

And everyone sitting on the steps is only a fire hazard. Dangerous situation.

My son graduated and I am thrilled that I won't have to attend another LCHS graduation.

Graduation was very well organized and the students were in and out of there in an hour and that is good. The only problem with graduation at Lewis Co is it seem as though everyone in there is talking and it's hard to hear the speakers. They show no respect.

Listen, Granny, no disrespect, but shut up! You got to see your Grandson graduate High School, that only happens once! You had to take a day off work, get the f*** over it, I mean really!!! Yes, we know that it is hot in there, we have prom there too, and it's a million times worse, but people come to floorshow and they dont f***king B***h so get over it. I can't believe that you are whining because you had to take one day off, thats sad and extremely pathetic. Yes, there are schools all around here that held theirs graduations the same day, or freaking sooner! I was one that voted for the Friday, and I am glad that that is the day that it happened! About the date and invitation, we had the date set almost too months before the actual event, but the stupid company that we got the invations from delayed them until a couple weeks before the date, so if you wanna complain to someone, take it up with HeffJones. As for the pitiful comment, it was a very important day for me and me fellow graduates, so shut your pie hole and get over it!!!!
Suck on that Granny!

ok,so r kids that voted for fri. nite have no sense, lady u r a real piece of work! It's their day,and their time I am proud of my child and I always want him to know this.I do have a full time job and it is an hr away.F.Y.I. I worked from 7 am to 4 pm that day so thats wat, hmmmmm 9 hrs?You know wat I left work and made it on time!So there goes ur theory for ppl being able to go on this day and time because they don't work out the window!Think about this,do u have any idea how many kids were there graduating that were so lucky to have had that opportunity to do so after some horrible car accidents?I myself sat there and counted 4!!!So u go on with ur selves class of 2011 and remember this there will always be someone out there to bitch and complain.Keep ur heads high!It sucks that supposedly grown ass adults will complain about something so important in these young adults lives! So on behalf of the class of 2011,Put that in ur juice box n suck it!
