off the top of my head I'm thinking Poppet made for that person (Personal effect...) and a fire and burn the poppet...as you do visualize the hold on you as a rope and see it burning away too. I'd also burn sage and do this in a circle of salt or something for protection. Now what I've recently learned from a wise elder priestess is to piggyback all of my workings with a little incantation that blocks the spell from back firing...just something, nothing structured or fancy :O) Also divine-help is a huge boost although I'm not exactly sure how that work for an Atheist...maybe call on your ancestors and the fae. Divine assistance (for me) is a must, but it's not that way for everyone :O) hope this helps ;O)

Thanks. This spell is for a loved one not for me. Do you think I could do it for someone else? As far as the Atheism is concerned, it means I don't worship a god or gods in the sense of religious rituals and such. I do know the spirit realm and the powers there. My goddess of contact was Isis many moons ago. Maybe I will reconnect and do a protection spell soon. At least before I do anything else.

i'm not sure that she/he SHOULD do it herself/himself without have magickal knowledge and at the same time I'm not sure that you'd have the emotions to charge the poppet. Maybe you should do it together, but I assume that if she doubts the working or doesn't charge the poppet correctly then it probably won't work. Maybe she/he should charge the poppet over a series of days (keeping it with her/him) leading up to the full moon so that the growing phases of the moon might symbolize a building to a new beginning or a growing of her/his inner-power and the growing connection to the Mother Goddess.

I'm wondering...is this person maybe having a curse on her/him? I have a nifty charm given to me by a high priestess. It's not hard to make and EXTREMELY effective. After I made mine and cast the person cursing me instantly had the curse reversed and promptly moved far away.

It may be a curse but it is definitely a brain washing. This person is my child and there is a definite desire for release, while there is great physical and emotional pain and guilt for the other person's actions or failure to act. The physical separation has occurred several years ago but the mental hold is like a trap! What is the recipe for the charm? I will try anything. My child is nearly helpless.

the pentameter/inflection is kinda ticky...i'm sure that fiddle with it suit your needs:

"Go to a craft store and buy six small mirrors that are square and a hot glue gun and glue. You want to glue these mirrors together and make a box, you want the mirror's reflective side to face outward. Before you glue the top on , place inside a photo or name of all your family members who are still alive but, ill. Then place a photo of yourself inside the box with the others. Sprinkle all items inside with ground sage. Glue the top closed with mirror facing out again. Now, chant this:

Who ever sent this curse to mine and me
will receive it back 23 x 23
No more this curse my own will harm
send it back to the one who threw the
charm.
And this not come back as a curse in kind
to plague the likes of me and mine
Be it done

Misletoe Lore

Whitney, TX

#109 Dec 20, 2009
Mistletoe fruits were considered the seeds of life, and that the plant
decended from the sky (possibly via lighting strike) onto the tree
groves (not so incorrect considering the propogation is naturally via
birds). Mistletoe is never cut only lopped; to maintain its power, it
should not touch the earth when harvested but caught in a blanket or
cloak as it falls from the tree, some sources say this has to be over
30 years old.

Remains of mistletoe in conjunction with oak branches have been found
in a Bronze Age tree-coffin burial at Gristhorpe near Scarborough in
Yorkshire.(Graves 1961)

Reverence for mistletoe was translated into the Christian ritual of
hanging mistletoe over doorways at Christmas, the custom of kissing
under the mistletoe may be a remnant of a fertility or marriage
ritual.

All growths that did not owe their origin to seed or root were
regarded as miraculous and endowed with magical power.

This plant [Graves, pp. 280, 281] is called by the Welsh Pren Awyr, or
merry tree, Pren Uchelvar, or tree of the high summit, and Pren
Puraur, or tree of pure knowledge.

One superstition states that if mistletoe be found on an ash or hazel,
a snake , with a jewelled head, would be found beneath the tree with a
special treasure (the tree of life and knowledge).

A sprig of mistletoe brings good luck for the ensuing year to its
possessor. If an unmarried woman placed a sprig of mistletoe under her
pillow, she would dream of her future husband or of omens. Mistletoe
is accepted as an emblem of love.

Abundance of the mistletoe, indicated an abundant farming year and
farmers used to say, when mistletoe was scarce: "No mistletoe, no
luck." So mistletoe boughs were kept in the dairy.

The old years boughs went onto the winter solstice fire and the new
boughs kept throughout the season. In rites of passage mistletoe
wreaths are burned in the summer solstice rituals

NEW YEAR SPELL
(From my Files - author unknown)
To ensure that your life is blessed with good luck through the next
twelve months, perform this simple spell at midnight on New Year's
Eve. First, open every door and window of your house to allow the
spirit of the old year to depart. Go outside and light a green candle
that has been anointed with a few drops of cinnamon, cypress, or lotus
oil, and, without uttering a single word, reenter your house through
the back door. Walk through every room with the candle in your hand,
go back outside through the front door then in again by the back.
Additionally, you may place a silver coin, a piece of coal, and a
piece of bread on a windowsill or porch at midnight on New Year's Eve,
and then bring them into the house after you rise from bed on New
Year's morning.
Contemplating a Leaf

Contemplating a Leaf (Meditation)
Starry Night Ezine 12/31

This is a simple exercise in contemplation. It can give rise to
deeper mysteries or it can be a simple exercise in developing
awareness. Best suited to the times when you are restful rather
than outgoing, it can bring insight and deepen your spiritual
practice.
__________

How to Practice:

Choose a leaf that has fallen and bring it home to a quiet
corner.

Really look at this leaf. Notice all the aspects you can about
it - its colour, its texture. Touch it gently with your fingers
and notice along the edges, along the underside, along the top,
along the stem, all of the different textures that are included
in that leaf. Smell it. Is there a scent that you can discern?
And if so, what is it like? As you move it in your hand, what
are the sounds associated with that leaf? Feel it thoroughly.

Now close your eyes and imagine that you are bringing the
essence of that leaf into your body - that somehow it could
pass through your skin and sit in the centre of your body -
affecting the way that your body works, the ways that your body
feels, the emotions that your body evokes. Is this just a
fallen leaf, or does it hold a certain life of its own?

Rest for a while in this and allow the connection to open. You
don't need to sense its energy or aliveness to make a
connection. The connection already exists.
__________

Notes:

It doesn't have to be a leaf, it can be a pebble or a shell, a
petal or a starry night sky.

Manifesting
By Janet Dane

Here are the rules for getting what you want:

Make very sure of the qualities you want and cut them back to their
essence. If you want a car say a car. But if you want a white car, say
a white car. If you want a new man, but think you really don't mind if
it's a man at all but just want to feel appreciated and loved, then
say that you want to feel appreciated and loved. Make a list of these
qualities and refine it over days or weeks.
Feel your desire for this deeply but at the same time joyfully, as
though you were a little kid playing a game.
Ask your Angels (or if you prefer, ask your "subconscious") to take
care of the details and give it over to them to take care of for you.
This can be the hardest part because we like to worry about it and
think about it often - yet, it is important. Our thoughts create our
reality so if we are always thinking "I want to have this" we will
continue to create the "want" of it and not the object we desire. So
it is best to forget all about it and get on with our lives as though
we will not get it. This is not about not "desiring" something any
more, just not "actively desiring" it - thinking about it. As soon as
we let it go, our energies open to allow what we want to come to us.
Pay attention in the time to come, to odd or unusual impulses. Follow
them if possible. They are your Angels nudging you.

This is a true story about how I got a car that I needed. I asked for
a VW diesel, used, but in excellent shape, one that would last me many
years, costing me no more than I had in a certain bank account and, to
make it even more specific, I wanted it in 4 weeks. It took 6 weeks
and my Angels had to break my husband's car, but the repairs on his
car brought me into the place where mine was waiting for me. An
impulse to speak to the salesman came up and I followed the impulse.
Sure enough - I got exactly what I asked for. Even more, between the
cost of it and the repairs to my husband's car, it cost me all but
$100 in the bank account I had specified.

It works.

Easter Eggs

How the Ostara Egg Came to Be

(Shared by Lizzanthus)

The modern belief that eggs are delivered by a rabbit, comes from the
legend of the Goddess Eostre. Eostre was walking one fine Spring day
and came upon a beautiful little bird. The poor bird's wing was badly
injured and Eostre, feeling great compassion for the little creature,
wanted to heal it. But the little bird' wing was so badly damaged that
Eostre knew it would never be able to fly again even after She healed
it. So, Eostre decided to help the bird by healing it in a way that
would give it mobility and a little something more She turned it into
a rabbit!

During the transformation, the rabbit retained the ability to lay
eggs. The rabbit was so grateful to Eostre for saving its life that it
laid a sacred egg in Her honor, joyously decorated it and then humbly
presented it to the Goddess. She was so pleased and so touched by the
rabbit's thoughtful gift that She wished all humankind to share in her
joy. In honoring her wishes, the rabbit went all over the world
distributing these beautifully decorated little gifts of life and
continues to do so even today.

I usually just get on here to see the mud slinging and antics of those in my county and I laugh. But I stumbled upon this post and it caught my eye. I am not here to condem anyone for their religious practices, nor do I want to offend anyone. I am here to simple speak the truth as it has applied to my life and those around me.
First off I am a VERY strong Christian and I believe in the Father God, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. I honestly couldn't see my life being able to work out right without some devine intervention from God himself. I know it's real not only because I believe the Bible, but I have seen him work in my life and heal some medical problems of mine through his devine power. I'm not posting to cram scripture down your throat, but to simple say what I feel I need too.
Secondly, I'm not ignorant of the pratices of the Wiccan culture. I'm actually very educated in them. I know what casting a circle means, I know what you do when you call down powers, I know that the moon plays roles in the certain rituals you do, and that your so called "spells" are kind of a way to pray to your gods and goddesses. Seeing as I have never practiced Wicca, nor do I have the desire to do so, I cannot tell you exactly what goes on, but I know what you do.
I also would like to point out that I do not think pagens are evil or that they are posessed by demons. I simply believe that they are misinformed about what they are really doing. Again, I'm not here to judge and I dont mean to offend anyone. I know you know what your doing, but without really being informed of what your dabbling in it can get you into some trouble. There are dark and strong forces out there that you welcome in when you subject your mind to these un-Godly things. So, please if you insist on making this your religion of choice please consider the evil in the world before you subject yourself to it.
Like I said I am not here to condem, just inform. There are better ways out there to fill the void in your life than a pagen religion. Jesus died for you and me both. He loves us regardless of how much we dont love him. Like I said before I am not here to condem by any means because I love everyone. I dont hate a person or think their evil because they believe different than me. But, I'm to speak the truth of Jesus until the whole world hears.
God bless you all.

Most people don't realize that every major religion sesorts back to peganism. I'm agnostic, so I'm not going to defend or back up anything, just give a third person point of veiw. And, I just don't see why people can become so intertwined with their religion, Im a fact person, and the fact is, who knows what's real and what's fake. And being that pegan is the source of mos lt religion, why fldo seperat religions hate each other so much?
Magical inks

Ashland, KY

#119 Mar 18, 2010
There is no actual blood found in any of the magikal inks. The names of the inks are derived from both the ingredients and the use for these inks. However, after having made many of these myself, I can see how someone not familiar with the formulas, seeing one of these concoctions in a bottle on a shelf with a label like ?Dove's Blood? or ?Bat's Blood? or ?Dragon's Blood?, could easily get the wrong impression. Most of the ?blood? inks do turn out a very nice dark red ?bloody? color.(With the exception of Butterfly's Blood, which is supposed to be yellow gold.)

The magikal inks are exceptional to use for spells, incantations, or other charms. They are designed so that when used, after the alcohol in the ink dries, the scent of the oils and other herbal ingredients is noticeable on the paper.

Because these magikal inks are made from only natural ingredients, separation may occur. This is normal. Please make sure to shake well before use.
It can be used to inscribe spells, to instill a little extra convincing power into handwritten missives, you may wish to use it to write in your book of shadows, or, you may just think it's cool. Either way, it's fun and easy to make and you've got lots of options!

When it comes to witchcraft, most people think of Wicca, but there are
various forms of solitary witchcraft that are more nature-based, which
don’t necessarily follow the ritual-based Wiccan system.

The hedge witch is one such path, with green witchcraft and cottage
witchcraft being other examples of natural witchcraft. Kitchen
witchery, however, is a unique form of the Craft, which focuses more
on honouring the mundane in life. This involves honouring the Goddess
by taking care of hearth and home, from finding sacred meaning in
daily household chores to blessing everyday cooking with love and
magic.

Being a Domestic Goddess with Kitchen Magic
Cookery and food is an integral part of kitchen witchery. The kitchen
witch honours what she cooks, preparing meals with loving intent.
Using fresh ingredients, often from her own garden, she makes magic in
the kitchen by creating delicious, seasonal food, herbal remedies, and
magic spells.

Make Household Chores Enjoyable
Finding the sacred in the mundane means carrying out household tasks
with joy. Kitchen witches recognise that cleaning, tidying and cooking
are important, meaningful tasks – by honouring their home they are
honouring the Goddess. They find ways of making chores more enjoyable,
thus making magic in the home.

Garden Magic
The garden is very important to the kitchen witch. Here she will grow
her own organic vegetables, fruit and herbs. She will grow food
seasonally, and share her harvest with the wildlife that visits the
garden. She may also spend time in the garden communing with
nature, working iwth elemental spirits, and casting simple spells.

Honouring the Earth with Sustainable Living
Environmentally friendly living is essential for kitchen witches.
Using natural products, organic where possible, they avoid chemicals
in the house and garden. Recycling initiatives, composting and growing
organic food are all facets of kitchen witchcraft.

Attuning to the Seasons
The kitchen witch is attuned to the seasons and elements of nature.
She grows and eats food in season, and honours the wheel of the year
by marking festivals, solstices and equinoxes, although she does not
adhere to specific rules or rituals. Many kitchen witches celebrate a
particular festival or season by decorating the home with natural
objects, and cooking seasonal meals.

Honouring the Goddess
Kitchen witches honour the Goddess in her many forms. Specific
goddesses they may work with include the Greek goddess Hestia, goddess
of Hearth and Home (or Vesta, her Roman counterpart). Others include
earth goddesses, such as Gaia, grain goddesses like Demeter, and
goddesses of fire (Sekhmet), abundance (Lakshmi) or creativity
(Sarasvati).

Arts and Crafts
Most kitchen witches are creative in the home, making their own
decorative or practical items. Many learn the old crafts, such as
weaving, spinning and working the loom. Sewing, embroidery, painting,
sculpting and wildcrafting are all common kitchen witch activities.
Their homes will feature images of the Goddess – many make their own
by sculpting with salt dough or painting Goddess imagery.

Magic Spells for Hearth and Home
Many spells for kitchen witches will involve food. Even the act of
preparing a meal is seen as sacred, and can provide a ritualistic
basis for focusing intent. Spells for prosperity, harmony, abundance
and health are carried out whilst mixing ingredients. Casting magic
with candles, needle and thread or natural objects are other methods,
along with divination and weather magic.

Kitchen witchery would suit those seeking an informal solitary
witchcraft path, and whose interests lie in homemaking, cooking,
gardening, crafting and the natural world.
