"cutting services to the poor" ?<quoted text>
A small correction;
That may be well and true but at least they aren't trying to cut services to the poor just in order to avoid doing away with their ultra rich buddies tax breaks.
They are like Robin Hood in reverse. The take from the poor and give to the rich.
What they fail to understand (or maybe they do) is that more profit does not equal more jobs. Just the opposite,
Did you know when the auto industry was at its peak in America it operated on just 3 percent profit? This was because they worked hard on keeping the sales volume high. In industry, small profit margins are made up for by increasing the demand. How do you increase volume? More employees.
A highly profitable industry is less likely to aggressively seek increases in demand because of the greater expense to profit ratio.
Example please; I don't know of these, besides "Welfare Reform" and that actually worked for the entirety of America.
FYI the welfare reform act was referenced in the way you used "cutting services to the poor".
