How does someone get sent to prison for stealing marijuana from a residence? Wouldnt the homeowner who reported it be arrested for having it, not the kid who stole the drugs?! This is why VW is screwed up! Send a kid to prison for 24 months bc of stealing drugs...why not send the junkie and heroin accicts who are stealing personal property/ breaking into cars!!

yea not saying that he should have been charged for stealing....but totally agree why wasnt the "person who had the drugs" busted. i met Nick when he was 16 bc he was friends with my cousin. he was a really nice boy.i had not seen him for years and i knew he had been in some trouple and then last year he had come to my church it was really crazy bc that say day i had brought my cousin who used to be best friends they both have went down a bad road...and they had not seen each other for a long time....i wish and pray that they both can seek God and change their lives!

He stole $1700 worth of stuff, but it was his previous record of crimes that did him in. I like Nick but not real sure how intelligent he is.

The burglary charge is for trespassing on property belonging to someone else w/o permission with the intent to commit a criminal offense.

This guy has quite a record, he's lucky he didn't get the maximum sentence, which I think is 5 years.

It doesn't matter what was stolen, he's going to prison for invading the privacy and property of another person.

Does anyone know if there is more to this story?

I, too, would be interested in knowing how the reporting of the crime came about.

Were the occupant(s) of the home charged with possession of the drugs or paraphernalia? In the end, evidently the law is ultimately on their side, as they received restitution, but I wonder if they were charged with anything.

...i agree n it seems to me that him paying that money back is no different than buying that much pot....there has to be (hopefully)more to this story n as usual the times bulletin didnt print it all...

it is very interesting....i do think he should do time for stealing and i know he has been in trouble but i wish i did know the story...did he steal other things besides drugs such as electronics etc? and would have loved to hear the remort on that...ummmm i need to make a report of stolen drugs??? hmmm!
also about the money he has to pay back....i doubt that person sees it....i had stuff stolen from me and 1 being something VERY important to me.....and he got caught and charged and i never seen ANY restitution.

Nick Wheeler is a dumb a$$... He stole a crap ton of electronics. All that he said was a lie. Do youu think someone who has been to jail many times has said that they are trying to change each time.? You hear it all. If he says it once and doesn't do it he's not any other times.

What did you expect the courts to do? Make him replace the dope he stole? I can't see Judge Steele doing that!

Wheeler is a fu**ing moron...the 1,700 is for electronics, and as far as the weed goes he is just saying sh*t to try and save his worthless a$$. You honestly think that someone would call the cops and report weed gone. Come on..if you believe that then your as stupid as him. This is the second time he has broke into this supposive "friends" house but actuallly got caught this time. Just because someone goes to :church" doesn't make them a good person. It is just a desperation try to make idiots think that he is a changed person. He needs the sh*t beat out of him to knock some common sense into him. He says he has changed and paid the restitution back..how has he done that with no job? people need lifes instead of getting on here and trying to figure everything out.

Kudos to you for having a positive and empathetic outlook on the situation! I'm not personally familiar with this story or the people involved, but it warms my heart to know that a few people out there are non-judgemental and still believe in forgiveness...

The only person who said pot was stolen was nick. Nick is an ass. The times bulletin Effed up on that article. Printing hear say as fact. And yes he broke in to the guys house more than once. Only got caught the last time cuz he left his white prints everywhere in the house after he accidentally got white shit on his hands from the siding. He stole electronics. That's fact.
