So, if there is someone who is going to have a child in the near future who keeps a disgusting house, who can I report them to? I'm talking about dog crap on the floor that isn't cleaned up, prescription pills sitting around everywhere, no city water, garbage everywhere, etc. Who do I report this crap to? No kid deserves to live like that,,, EVER!

Doublecheck your facts, and if confirmed, Job and Family Services is your destination.

Report to the health department. If there is no child yet in the home, children services can't do anything. Once the child is born report to cps, but as said before you need to know the facts. I'm talking details of what is going on and when you were in the home last. You can make a report to cps now before the child is born to have it documented. Then report again when the baby is born.

Will photos help document this? I have pictures.

Please don't speculate on who this is. I don't want this locked. I want this to be beneficial for the child.

Photos would most defiantly help.

You can report it to the health department right now if there is yet to be a child in the house but what I would do is just keep close to this person and wait until they go to the hospital in labor to have the baby. While they are there call CPS and let them know that this person is about to be taking a newborn baby into an environment such as that and let them know the mother is still in the hospital so they know how urgent it is. They will investigate and actions will be taken. That's how I'd do it anyway. I wouldn't worry about the health department because they only have so many rights when it comes to a private residence where CPS actually has more rights than the police department.

I'm all for benefiting children (more than you could even guess) and won't even begin to guess who it is because I could care less. And I do actually know what I'm talking about on this before people start bitching at me (not you but I know how people get on here). Pictures can help as a reference, but there can be issues with pics so a report can go off them but not a whole case. I don't fully know health dept policies or van wert cnty cps policies (even tho it should be blanket for state). The health dept probably has more lax rules on what will work. With pics the biggest obstacle is if they are not date stamped because then they could be from years ago and there is no way to know. So a date stamped pic will go much further. You can take pics to make your report. Make it in person (yes you can stay anonymous if you wish even in person) so you can show the intake worker the pics. If you're able to get an extra set to give them, do that. Reporter info is also always confidential (unless there is a court order which is rare). It is best not to stay anonymous so the investigator and call to ask you questions (again it is confidential). Just make sure you make the report once the baby is born, even if you make one now. And if there are other kids make sure to report them now too. Hope that helps and the situation can be taken care of.

Johnny is mostly right as well. And I'd do exactly what he said. However, the CPS having more rights than police is actually not true. Police actually have the capability (however a lot of departments don't for some stupid reason) to do an emergency removal of a child on the spot and then the court process takes places. CPS has to get an ex parte order to remove a child, which can sometimes take time since you have to get a judges signature. That is why caseworkers often take police. There is another huge difference that I almost put on here, but there is a lot of trash on this site that I wouldn't want to know the info. Johnny if you're wanting to know I can send you a private message.

If you're familiar enough with these people who you want to report, then why not talk to them about the conditions and raising a child in that kind of environment?
Also, just because a person or people have a disgusting house right now, that does not mean that they can't change or are unwilling to. A child of your own can and will make a huge impact in your life (usually for the better, but not always).
Before my children were born, my wife and I would leave all sorts of things sit out, mainly because we could and because no one was at risk by doing so. Things like guns, medication (even Nyquil), bleach and cleaning chemicals... just things that an adult is ok to be around but not a child.
The animal waste is unfortunate. I've seen it in some people's homes (not many, maybe 1 or 2, but still) and it's nauseous. But some people, for any number of reasons, may not know any better. Perhaps they were raised in the same environment? Who knows.
Before you call CPS or any other government agency, at least try to reach out to this person. If they refuse to listen and you really do feel that the child's well-being is in jeopardy, then by all means report it.

You got your sugar mamma Kalena to pay for it. She needs to leave your lazy ass for me, where she could quit her job and stay home with Maddie all the time and let me provide for her like a REAL man should!!!

Odds and ends. Computer repair. Jail breaking and rooting phones. Among other things. Ffs though let's not make yet another thread about me! This is supposed to be a thread about helping someone find out how to turn someone in before a newborn baby is harmed.

Thank you!! And I put that last post before I even read this one so you can see that I thought the same thing. I try to use this forum as its meant to be used and somehow the threads always turn into a bashing on me contest even though everyone knows that I don't care besides it being extremely annoying. Anyways, thanks again for the kind words and no doubt that I'll keep on doing what I'm doing and smiling along the way.
