What idiots, never ever admit anything to a cop under any circumstances. Just keep asking if you are free to go yet, other than that keep your mouth shut. If the situation later calls for it, decline making a statement and request an attorney. Select your words carefully, keep them to a minimum and don't believe a word that comes from the cops. Do you have any smart crooks around here?

This is America, contrary to all the propaganda unless you have very deep pockets you're guilty until proven innocent. You don't need to break a law to run afoul of them, they have quotas to meet.

If Slippery Slope would quit using drugs he'd have deep pockets and wouldn't have to worry about quotas.

It's possible the guns were stolen from somewhere else.

Not a druggie, I am an ACLU member familiar enough with these issues. So anybody who disagrees with you is automatically a druggie? I would be interested in hearing your twisted logic behind this line of reasoning. Can you support your claim?
Below is a reference to only 1 contract among many. So a 20 year contract guaranteeing 90% occupancy with penalties for noncompliance isn’t a “quota” by your rules? How much of your local government operation is funded by fines and asset seizures? Unquestionably putting a hardship on the community, few people can afford the loss of a significant asset like a car. These are cases where individual resources are hopelessly overwhelmed by those of the state. We have to pay for those fancy court houses and redecorating the court rooms too, much of that money comes out of the penalties as well. Those who make laws also make criminals, always enough to keep the process going and the money rolling in. All you need do is militarize and broaden the net for the police, then to seal the deal, provide judicial immunity for their excesses.
“Corrections Corporation of America (CCA, now known as CoreCivic) in 2012. CCA paid the state almost $73 million for the facility, and in exchange received a 20-year contract to house Ohio state prisoners along with a 90% bed guarantee provision.[See: PLN, Aug. 2015, p.42].”

There is little of substance in the article. They said items seized were similar to some reported stolen, no mention of matching serial numbers. The articles says this was a traffic stop, no mention of a violation. Sounds suspiciously like they were profiled, then tricked into an admission of guilt. This was brute force policing, not brilliant detective work.
