This is from CNN
Debbie Wasserman-Shultz was it again Thursday night when she spoke to Anderson Cooper during the “Keeping Them Honest” segment of his CNN program. Whether or not you agree with Anderson Cooper’s politics, he’s one of the last real journalists in cable news and isn’t afraid to call out the lies he sees on either side of the aisle.
During the interview, Cooper ripped into the congresswoman for “misquoting” a Los Angeles Times article in a campaign fundraising email, in which she attempted to tie Mitt Romney’s stance on abortion to Rep. Todd Akin’s recent ridiculous comments on “legitimate rape” and specific pieces of the Republican platform.
Here is the full segment from the Times:
“There is no doubt about who is in charge, of course. Delegates for presumptive nominee Mitt Romney are voting down substantive changes to the platform language that was written at the direction of Romney’s campaign. The biggest question is whether the tone remains polite, as it was at the outset of two days of deliberations, or whether dissenters spoil the image of harmony that the Romney campaign is working hard to produce.”
The email in question argued that the GOP “just voted to embrace Akin’s position by including a constitutional ban on all abortions — even in cases of rape or incest — in their 2012 platform.”
