how can people in the right minds congratulate children having babies? you have got to be kidding me. WTH is wrong with people anymore? Lets all just be deleriously happy with a 13 yr old having a 2 pound baby or a 16 year old with a baby in NICU for unknown reasons due to them not being smart enough to understand what is going on. Lets all just be happy for all the new families. I am sure they are. More food stamps, welfare check, tax right off for grandma and grandpa next year, oh and lets not forget all the freebies from wic and plc. yea lets all just ignore how messed up the lives of the new mommies and their b abies are gonna be.

Well, ignoring them is sure not going to help either. What would you suggest exactly?

Cant change what has happened when they are pregnant so might as well congratulate. Some teens children actually turn out well taken care of despite whoever is helping but that's all that matters is the kid turns out fine!
thanks bye bye

why do you care? if i don't have to hear wailing all hours of the night or change any sh!tty diapers, then i don't give a crap. and neither should you. lifes too short to be a nosey nellie, you can do that when you're an old fuddy duddy and have nothing better to do then yell at the youngsters on your lawn.

On the other hand, you'd have s*&t if they'd opted to have an abortion probably, right? So, the alternative is, bring on the baby shower! Another poor neglected kid who'll grown up and likely spend time in the prison system. Party-on! Who's bringing the cupcakes?

That is a little harsh to say about babies don't you think? Nothing like others labeling an infant a failure before the baby even has a chance to take his/her first breath! Maybe that's why kids turn out to be so rotten as adults, being looked down upon by others, being label "bad" throughout their childhood because of who their parents are and never given a chance to see the positive approach to situations. If you are worried about a child growing up bad why not step into their lives as a role model and show them how to be good? Kids need someone to look up to regardless of the parent(s) situation or age! I feel bad for anyone who has to go up with parents who look down upon other children! Teach love not hate!

There are 3 options not 2.
Keep the baby.
Abort the baby.
Give the baby up for adoption.

Don't judge a child! Shame on you!

I'm not judging the child. They can't help what they were born in to! But odds are not promising for their future if they grow up with parents who can't or won't give them adequate care. Not the child's fault at all.

Friendly, caring and compassionate people could make a huge difference in a child's life more so to those who are less fortunate.

I agree that people shouldn't really be congratulating them BUT at the same time I think it's kinda dumb to congratulate anyone for having a baby. IMO, it just sort of destroys the meaning of the word itself ... Similar to when people call ever single soldier, policeman, firefighter, or medic a hero. I know saying congratulations to a woman who just had a baby isn't anywhere near on that same level and no, I don't actually think its a big deal ... I've even said it myself in the past and probably will say it again in the future, lol. I just like pointing out things like that that we all do without really thinking about it. Congratulating someone for doing something that really takes no effort, no special skill, and something that every single living organism on the planet (even cockroaches) do all the time is just weird I think.

US Birth rates are at an all time low, so low that it threatens to be a trigger in the collapse of our civilization. That anyone would choose to have a baby in this economy is worth respecting and congratulating.

Look up US birth rates in google sometime. It's not like the threat is being kept secretive. Year after year since at least the 70s has shown a steady decline in birthrates. Did you really think the pro-lifers were gaining in popularity by accident? Based on current life expectancy, status quo is 12.86 births per 1000 per year.
