Is there a reason why people park their cars at an angle in their front yard on Washington Street?

There are no For Sale signs on the cars?

Are people holding their own "Car Show" in their front yard? LOL

They can't park on the street because of the parade.

I am thinking that a parade on Saturday has nothing to do with parking today.

The people, as previously mentioned, who have their cars sitting on the front lawn on Washington Street, have empty driveways and garages. Drive by and take a look.....Idiot.

Any other excuses?

Is this going to be a new trend in Van WerTucky?

I sometimes park in the yard. If my daughter and the neighbor kids are riding bikes, or I am expecting company. I share a drive with my neighbors, and killing the grass saves the paint on my vehicle from hadlebars. Maybe not so "Tucky" of an answer for you, but it works for me.

1) So you say you "share" a drive with your neighbors. Who's property is the drive on?

2) So you would rather park your car in your front yard, to keep it safe, then in the Garage? Because, as previously mentioned, these places have both Driveways and Garages.

Is it THEIR yard or YOUR yard? Sounds like it's THEIR yard, so why does that bother you?

1) It is NOT your property. Don't believe me. Quit paying your property taxes and see what happens Smart Guy.

2) You made the choice to live within City limits, so you are required to follow local ordinances, which can prohibit you from parking anywhere you dam please, Einstein . LOL

There are laws that you must pay your property tax. Do you know for a fact there is a law against occasionally parking in your own yard? I know you can't put a car on blocks or leave a non-working car in a yard indefinitely! But what's the big deal about parking a functional vehicle there now and then? Is there a city ordnance against that?

Does "parking functional vehicles in the front yards, now and then" have to be on the same weekend as the Annual Festival and Parade is scheduled? Which, by the way, will go right by that location. Just Saying..........have some Pride.

I was always told that the city owned the property between the sidewalk and the street. Is this true?

If you check you local ordinances, there is a law prohibiting the parking of cars in the front law of residences. If you have a problem, contact councilman John Marshall and report the incident.
