I've noticed these "protect religious freedom" signs in peoples yards around town. What are they for? Are there actually peole who respect others beliefs and their rights to have them within Van Wert? I hope this is the case.

What the signs mean is that those people want the freedom to force their religion upon you.
If you'll notice, they're usually paired with an anti abortion sign.

Did I miss the push to ban the Bible in the United States? Do we really need a sign to remind people that the Bible exists?

Be careful, "concerned". That Book also said to love thy neighbor, judge not lest ye be judged, women have no rights, and so on.
It's interesting to see how you pick and choose, though...

Those signs are incendiary signs for an election year. I believe it has everything to do with HCR... There has not been a single action against religious freedom, but their paranoia is flaming out of control... Lets be honest here it is the Catholicism that has developed a righteous paranoia, and the US is not wholly Catholic...Although Muslims do agree with them on many issues...

i never pick and choose,or judge,i just tell it like it is,people have this idea if they dont beleive that they will be alright in the end,but if they really think about it where will they go when they die,and everbody knows there are not going to live forever,or they think they have been good all their life that will get them somewhere,

What? You are blaming Catholics for the religious craziness in this country? Yes, they are anti-abortion. And while the Catholic church is against birth control, most Catholic women use it anyhow. But wow, they can't hold a candle to the real religious right. Look at all those Bible-thumpers out there.... they are Christian extremists. Not Catholics!

And don't even bring up Rick Santorum. He's such an embarrassment to the Catholic church, it isn't even funny.

Yes, you are correct about that. But Catholicism has it place in this battle also. But from what I have seen around VW county it appears to be primarily the Catholics with the signs. I know every time I see that sign, I want to stop and ask them what Religious Freedom they feel they are losing.

Since no one here has the tact or grace to give you the true answer to this, I will. It has to do with the protecting the rights of all people in this country to practice their faith. The govt specifically wants Catholic run businesses and organizations to go against their belief system and offer insurance that would cover contraception and abortions, etc. If we allow the govt to force people to go against their spiritual beliefs then that will be opening up the door for more big government and clearly violate our 1st Amendment rights. Hope this gives you a clearer picture of what those signs are about.

In other words, you do indeed want the freedom to force your religion upon others. You just don't want them to have the freedom to disagree with you.
Those signs have nothing to do with protecting freedom, but instead, furthering YOUR own hidden agenda.
If we allow the govt to force people to accept your spiritual beliefs, that would be a clear violation of our First Amendment rights.
Hope that gives you a clearer picture of what those signs are REALLY about...

Nothing is being forced here, it is the right of every man to believe what he wants to believe freely, whether you are Christian, Jewish, Buddist, or Muslim or, whatever you choose to be or not to be.

You are an idiot. You want the right to force your views on me.
When you talk about rights you only mean what you want. Get over it! Get a life! Get educated so you don't sound so stupid! I have rights too, including the right to put up a sign.

Monica, you stated it correctly... Catholic 'run' businesses. They are not interfering with the Church, nor their religion. The businesses hires from the general population and is not practicing religion in those businesses, hence, not interfering with their practicing religion. The Catholics are the ones that is trying to interfere with others in forcing them to believe in the BC ban and women's healthcare choices.
