Thatís the John K I know. That is why I am biased in his favor. When I have needed help he has always been right there. When drunks were shooting at people up the road around 3 am a couple years back John K showed up and arrested them not his deputies or state troopers John K personally. He could have stayed home sleeping and said let the KSP deal with it but he came out. To be honest I donít even think he had a gun and he still disarmed the drunks and arrested them.

Regardless of what happened that is the person I think about when I think about John K.

As much as I try to be unbiased, sometimes it is difficult.

Also I am not sure the entire truth is out yet. Something about the story just doesnít set right with me. A lot of things were just to convenient. Mt Parkway is full of tired drivers returning from Lexington and such that swerve, why did the police get a call on this particular one. Usually these things are hushed up but this one was made public ASAP and his mug shot was sitting in a chair with people around him.

Something about the entire story just doesnít set right.

I am sure this will never see the light of day as far as punishment. Action should be taken by the other Floyd County elected officials to remove him from office. There is no way that he should be allowed to serve another day as our sheriff! I am sure one of the good ole' boys will come to his rescue! Despicable! A lot of people point out that anyone can make mistakes. I agree! We all have! I would argue that intentionally endangering others was a choice, not a mistake.

History will provide many examples of good men who are respected and loved by members of the community, but none the less, committed moderate to heinous crimes against the same community. Please look at the specific crime he has been accused of committing. Had it not been for the intervention of a vigilant and honorable officer, the crime could have fatal for the driver and/or innocent victims. Furthermore be thankful that a member(s) of the law enforcement community had the honor and integrity to to protect the people and not conceal for a brother. My utmost thanks and respect to the Powell Co. Sheriffs Office, your organization has placed a good light on law enforcement as a whole.

WYMT covering the story, more to come. I don't know why anyone is shocked. Eastern KY is the laughing stock of the state again. When are people gonna stand up and vote for someone with knowledge and integrity. And you wonder why there's such a drug problem when your Sheriff has been enabling it. For all you poor folks that have lost a family member to drugs, children on drugs, etc. Next time vote for better, this man allows and encourages this activity and we cry everyday because drugs is an epidemic here. If you are not trying to help stop it you're a part of the problem. John K. is very likeable, but he has problems of his own, we deserve someone to protect and serve. Think about it......

You think it might be that the car was a Floyd county Sheriff's car and the fact that he blew a .202 might be the reason...Has Powell county got the balls to indict him and they should....drunk is drunk and legal is legal....

any good light they shined was lost by a sheriff who willingly broke a law he swore to uphold he knew he was drunk and should not be driving but ignored the law in my opinion thats the same as going to the house of every person in this county and saying F-you.

I don't know if I'm more upset that he drove a county vehicle to a casino or that he got caught DUI in the County vehicle. Regardless of either, it has been WAY past time for a change. Someone stated earlier that things in Floyd Co are getting out of control, in which they aren't getting out of control, they have been that way for years. Problem you have is old money keeping around the piss poor government officials we have in this county. It's about time we get someone in office with integrity, morals & desire to make this county safe for everyone, especially our kids!

If he couldnít stand with people around him I am sure he couldnít drive either. Also if he blew a .202 that would be to the point of passing out. Another thing is why was it a deputy and not a state trooper? I have never seen a deputy on that road although I have never seen less than 20 state troopers and DOTís on that stretch of road.

How did he get that far without a getting caught and a deputy miraculously caught him.

How is it that Lexington news got the story and full police report just hours after he was caught? When have you ever heard of anything happening that fast?

Sounds like a setup, I doubt that deputy will have a job when everything comes out.

First of all I am a person not a ďthingĒ. Second I have just as much right as you do to post. More actually because I donít post like a pilled up holler rat with no education.

Also what makes you think I am a girl? I could be a 300-pound hairy biker, does that image ruin your fantasy or make it better?

It is Grammar not grammer, you would know that if you ever had to write something other than your name on an SSI check.
