I'm talking about the affair with a student for which she was placed on probation at the end of this school year. It was documented and action was taken.

If she is on probation for an affair with a student, then why was is not in the news like the Bobo case in Greenwood. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I have been looking and have even called a few people, and as far as I can tell there is no affair with a student, nor was she on probation. I am not saying you are lying. I am just saying that who ever you received your information from is wrong, or you did not understand correctly. If she was on probation, for an affair with a VBHS student, it would have been brought up on the news when they spoke about her arrest. Even though it was my first year in Van Buren, Mrs. Garcia was my friend and I talked often to her. If something exciting or good ever happened she was one of the first I would go and tell other than JROTC. Not once did I ever see ANYTHING that would say she was having an affair with a student. Once again, I am not saying you are lying, however, if you are going to make a state like the one you made, you need to support it. In a way if it was written down as an Answer to a question in Pre-Ap English, you would be marked wrong because there is no evidence to support it. It is a blank statement.

I agree that it's "guilty till proven innocent" and I know for a fact that she shows favortism. Now whoever brought up the fact of favortism to students who excel in a certain area, BULL! it's all a popularity issue with mrs.G . she is very much a pick and choose who to befriend type of teacher and to sit and think that you never "saw" anything, means she was just that good at pulling the blinds over your eyes just as well as she was everyone else! but i'm not one to sit here and argue back and forth to cover for someone who may or may not have done something wrong. If she did do this, may she get more than just a slap on the wrist. May they do more than just say, "alright now ginger, dont do it again, promise?" ok, your honor, I wont do it again" and poof she's free. She needs to sit in jail and think about what she's done. But on the other hand, if she is found not guilty and didn't do it, i'll be the first to come back and apologize!
Not sure what to believe

Rumor is it was a former female student. She has been there a while, so that could be someone near her age. She has been ill the past couple years, and with the complete turn around in the behavior alleged I am hoping she gets checked thoroughly... there may be more to her illness.

Do those of you posting on this not read your own words or think before you even post them. SCHOOL is not perfect. TEACHERS are not perfect. STUDENTS are far from perfect. I know that maybe some of her students didn't maybe get as much attention, but in a way inidividuals blame the wrong person. She was an Oral Communication teacher. If you were quiet in her class, didn't care to put any effort into class projects, if you use poor language skilss, were rude, late class, or were disrespectful in her class, then its not her fault. But what all of you need to understand is some of you don't even know her. Some of you are only seeing one part of the story and then writing your own. As far as her playing favorites in class, what teacher isn't guilty of that, what STUDENT, or EMPLOYER isn't guilty. A math teacher is going to favor the ones who are talented in that area. Science teachers will enjoy talking and favor those who show an interest in science. History will favor those who love to learn about history in the world. English teachers will favor those who love read and are incredible writers. Students will favor those who are more like them and have the same things in common. Employers will favor those who are best at the job. I guess my point is that just because she may have favored doesn't mean she is any worse then any teacher in VBHS. I do feel sorry for her daughter, but if VBHS is truly as great of school as we it is, then WE will be there to help in any way possible...
Its odd how when someone singles a person out and states what they are doing is wrong ... says how they are being hateful... that when the person finally reads the message they think the person showing them they are wrong is the mean one. Im sorry if you thought I was being mean. I wasn't trying to be, I was just stating how *I* felt on the issue. Nothing more. However I dont find myself and what I said as being nutty because I choose to think and believe on the bases that maybe the popularity and childish ways died out. I guess it only makes sense to me. I am sorry.

I dont know her but i work with her husband. i must say there has always been lavish spending on things for the daughter and trips every where. when you have to skip christmas for your own children due to your husbands unforseen illness, it stings a bit to hear a grown man brag about buying $200.00 handbags for their 12 year old! Is this what you have to do to keep up with the jones?

I have to admit at first I was in shock because she was the type to point out peoples flaws, so I guess I didnt expect it from her but then I thought about how rude and mean she was, and of course its true she did have favorites if you didnt but kiss or werent the principle or vice principles daughters she didnt like you it kind of seemed like she picked on you,any how I thought to my self she deserved it haha... for a few days but after reading all these comments I felt kind of guilty its true she was hatefull but I'm noone to judge her, none of us are perfect wether she did it or not its none of my bussiness because people like her made me a better person for one I have back bone I dont ass kiss to noone and 2,it makes me appreciate people who are nice to me plus for all We know she might have had some family emergency I dont excuse the fact that she stole but she must've been desperate to have done that. As much as I didnt like her I dont think she really wanted to steal maybe she felt cornered like she had no other option either way Jesus said,"Who ever hasnt sined throw the first stone." Now I know for a fact that we've all sined we dont know her situation, and forgiveness is the best thing to do, I just realized today that I forgive her for being mean to me it does us no good to hold a grudge. PS. None of us should judge her family either, they are innocent of what ever faults she might have done
