Amanda Griffith, author of TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE, will be one of the featured authors at the festival. Books a Million will sponsor Ms. Griffith at a table for book signing of her young adult novel.
TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE is a story about the daily pressures faced by today's modern teens; sex, alcohol, deception, and belonging. Brandy, sensitive, immature, and bright sophomore in high school, has controlling parents and a dorky friend, Celia. Kirsten, a gorgeous cheerleader offers Brandy popularity, and through her, Brandy gets caught up in a sinful world, leaving Celia in the dust.
When some of her risqué activities catch up with her, Brandy finds herself the subject of malicious gossip. Kirsten reveals her true colors and Brandy must make things right.
Repairing the damage she has done involves speaking up for a substitute teacher who has been fired and putting a sexual molester, David, in his place. But Brandy has forged a fragile relationship with Jerry who has a sordid history with David.
Will Jerry save her from harm in spite of both their pasts? Has she lost everything?

Ms. Griffith was featured on KTXA in an interview with Kenneth Taylor on January 26, 2007, and her novel was named a finalist in the Book of the Year Young Adult Category for ForeWord Magazine (BOTYA). On October 15, 2007, Ms. Griffith will be a member of an Author Panel for Young Adults at the Allen (TX) Public Library.

Author of THE WEARY MOTEL, Mark Spencer wrote of the book that it was a "richly textured and compelling story of true literary value that poignantly illuminates the complexities, joys, and tribulations of being a teenager in our time."

H.F. Corbin, Top 500 Reviewer for Amazon, writes, "the plot is just as good as Griffith's characters and has a surprise or two for the reader. She writes unflinchingly about the perils of teenage drinking, sexual predators, how important honesty and character are, and what makes a good friend, lessons we all need to be be reminded of again and again. TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE should be in every high school library."

Please, look for me, Amanda Griffith, at the Sherman Arts Festival and buy the book to prepare a parent for the teenage years, or to painlessly teach a young adult some very important and lifesaving lessons. Thanks. See you there!
