I've had a DRE 5 times in my life. It's not that bad. Get over it.

However, IF you are found to have prostate cancer, the latest best medical advice is: DO NOTHING.

It's such a slow-growing cancer, that you'll probably die form something else first.

The fact that nobody else has commented on this article is telling.

I've had one three or four times. My doctor is female. If you are going to have a DRE, have it done by a female doctor - their fingers are much smaller (amd almost pleasurable).

That's exactly opposite of what the article states. Men who had a prosectomy were 26% etter off than the watchful waiting group.

I realize that's what it said, but I have read many artiles over the past few years saying exactly the opposite.

And I gave a link there that states the opposite.

I'm not a physician. I only know what I read about it and what my physician told me.

Many physicians apparently have different opinions on the subject.

I'll take my chance that I'll die of something else first.
