Has everyone heard that the rumor about Tequillas and debit and credit cards is totally false. The Waterloo police have told the Independent that this is untrue. There have been no indentity thefts originating from Tequillas.

What's up with charging food to a credit card? If you pay cash, you have no problem. If you NEED to use a credit card to eat out, then someone needs to start rattling those pots and pans at home.

This happens so often on Topix and on the internet. Somebody gets mad (probably somebody who doesn't even remember their night at Tequila's in this case, or so I've heard) and sends out an unsigned e-mail or post about a business that contributes to our economy. If the Waterloo Police Department is defending this business in this particular case, then, yes, somebody is accountable. PEOPLE- think before you drunken post, whether it be e-mail or Topix. You are messing with people's lives. And if you have to charge a dinner at Tequila's, stay at home with Hamburger Helper!

Did the email come officially from the police dept, signed by the chief, or was it perhaps from an over zealous employee who wanted to feel important and is now in danger of losing his/her job? Just wondering because the scuttlebutt is the latter. Maybe you can explain that.

I saw an email from a police dispatcher spreading that rumor. She should be held accountable for her actions. Or are dispatchers free to tell the world of all the calls they receive?
