During my lifetime I have had several personal encounters with the paranormal, or supernatural as some people prefer to say. I shared this experience with several members of my family when I was about 12 revolved around a set of antique dolls. Although I was not the one who actually encountered the ghost I was there while it was going on.
My grandmother found a set of antique dolls somewhere and she bought them and brought them to her house. The bodies of the dolls were made of porcelain and their dresses and hats were a combination of silk and feathers.
She put the dolls into a large walk-in closet at the top of the stairs. My older sister lived with our grandparents, her bedroom was just next to the walk-in closet. Right away she started having nightmares. She also told us that she heard an old woman humming and a creaking noise like a rocking chair while she was trying to go to sleep. She prayed and tried to ignore it until she finally fell asleep, but when she did she had nightmares.
Naturally, the adults did not believe her. They said that she had only imagined it and it was natural for a child to have nightmares sometimes. She continued to hear the old woman and to have nightmares. We were all starting to get worried about her and, of course, my other sisters and I believed her. It seems that adults are often closed minded to the possibility of such things.
I should say that none of us made any kind of connection between the dolls and what my sister was experiencing. I remember seeing my grandmother bring the dolls in, but I never paid much attention or thought much about them. It was only later that a connection was discovered.
My grandmother attended a Pentecostal church. She had some people from the church get together during a service to pray for my older sister to try to stop her nightmares.
After the prayer one of the ministers came up to my grandmother and asked her if she had brought anything different into the house. He said that he felt like there was a spirit that was causing the problems. Naturally, she thought of the antique dolls and decided to remove them from her house.
To this day I do not know what she did with the dolls, but I do know that as soon as they were gone my sister stopped hearing the old woman and having the bad dreams.

Hi my name is Chloe. I am just an ordinary child well I think any way. Ever since I was around five years old I could here whispers in the night, so could my sister but she always thought and said, "Chloe, I know its you stop trying to scare me!" I would always answer, "its the dolls" and I didn't even know what I was saying it just kinda slipped out of my mouth like I was being controlled by some kind of source but my mum never believed anything me and my sister said about it. She always said, "stop it girls your just being silly!" But every time she said it she looked very uncertain or worried.

A few months after this started my uncle and cousin came over to stay from Ireland. I hadn't seen them both since I was around two and at the time when they were there I was then five. My cousin slept in me and my sisters bedroom and she always woke up at exactly the same time every night with me and said, "Its the dolls! Its the dolls again. They're coming to get us but they cant get out." That's when my mum got really worried.

After about 5 years of voices in the night our mum started to tell us everything that she knew. "When I was your age my aunt gave me these plaster dolls and two months later she sadly passed away. I never played with them they creeped me out so I just put them in the cupboard, locked away and I always played with my Barbie dolls in my room. After a week of locking the dolls in the cupboard I started to have nightmares about them and I could hear voices like you but they were different. They said 'let us out we wont hurt you, we promise' but then the next night they said 'when we get out were gonna hurt you just like your aunt.' I still have the dolls I'm really sorry but there under your bed."

Me and my sister froze. The words echoes in my mind, "I'm sorry, they're under you bed." Now I am 15 and we sold the dolls in a car boot sale. I wonder if they still whisper to their new owners?

Many people have old of forgotten toys. Like there childhood favorite toy. Yet some toys want to keep playing tell the end.

I was at my grandma's house it was a cold fall day. We where helping her move so me and my brother got a week off of school. I'm only eleven but still. I was in a old room where my great grandmother was in until she passed away. I found my great grandmother's favorite toy and that's what she left for me. The toy was a little creepy it had dull eyes, a grim smile and was very pale. My mom was happy that I found her.

About two day's passed and I started to get sicker and sicker. My mom took me to the doctor. They said nothing was the matter. My mom soon saw that "dolly" was getting happy her smile got bigger every day I was sick. She went from pale to tan and I went from tan to ghost pale. Then it was scary I became so sick I had to go to the hospital and dolly's face had a great big smile on her face.

I felt way better being away from dolly. my mom throw her away. Then me and my mom was driving when dolly was here and the doll said "I want you dead!" My mom stopped on the side of the rode grabbed dolly and dug a hole and put dolly there and put it on fire.

Dolly was the worst toy ever. I got back to how I was but still I will never ever touch that place ever!

when I was 5, and my sister was 11 she had a doll with long-blonde hair, blue dress and black shoes.. she also had a button at the back of her head.If you presed it she would say 'hello,my name is sally' I was always scared cz she's gonna keep on talking even if u throw her out of the window! once when my sister presed her button I started crying and cz of that my dad tried burning the doll..she was STILL talking even though her eyes came out!!!! and that's when my sister started getting scared aswell. The next day,me and my sister were watching Chucky (The killer doll) when we went to bed I kept on seeing nightmares that the doll would come back and haunt us till death.NOW IM*11* & MY SISTER IS *17*
and we still remember that day! WHEN I GO TO BED I CAN STILL HEAR A SOUND OF A DOLL SINGING A SOME WEIRD SONG WITH A CREEPY VOICE!

when i was 18 years old. I moved in with my bf but now he is my ex bf. We were staying at a apartment for 6 months then 6 months later. His mother brings a doll to the house. So we all didnt think about it much about the doll. but later on we started relizeing that we been hearing thing's and and it sounded like there was someone walking around in the small apartment. So one time me and my ex's were home all alone for a week.Right Before i went to bed one night i looked at the doll and didnt think much of it. But when i woked up the next day i looked at it again and it was in totally different spot. like it was half out of the crib. so i looked at my ex's and said did you move the doll? he looked at me and said No! So after that i was pretty freaked out about the doll. So we put the doll back in the crib with this jiggle bell thingy. When we went to bed that night i guess my ex's saw her walking just looking at him walking on by the room. so he didn't say nothing he just ingored it and went to bed. and the next night came along i remember just before i was about to head back to bed i heard that bell moving i was so scared when i heard that so i just went to bed right away. so when his mom came we told her what was going on and she took out that doll right away and it was okay from now on =)

Hey nit wit, there really is a paranormal world and it's around us. People do see ghosts and these ghosts and spirits sometimes are seen and can move objects. You have most likely had a paranormal experience in your life but brushed it off as nothing or your just too stupid to realize what happened. Ghosts are very real.

very true my friend . actually the world we cant see is the real world.(of course you know this to be true) The spiritual world is alive in very active. I would love to hear what you have to say. I think the unseen world is so real that there citys and structured living and everything you can imagine. The craziest thing I ever wittinessed was a spirit smoking. It was on boatman road. Have you ever heard any of those stories about boatman road. There was mischievient ones that aggravated people in that area. I was afraid then but knowing what I know now and looking back, it was quiet funny. Got any good stories? People wont believe the stories (mabey a handfull) but I find them so very interesting. Looking fwd to hearing from you ( btw,my name is not Candy). I dont want to get abused by the people that dont beleive in the spirit world

I haven't heard of any stories of ghosts on Boatman road. In the mid 1970's at mom and dads house, I'd see a full bodied apparition of a man that would go from one room to another; sometimes it would float through the wall. I was about six years old. One night my slightly older sister and I both saw it at the same time. We asked each other if we just saw that thing and both of said yes. I never saw it again after 1975 and we lived there until the year 2000. The ghost never seemed threating and even at that age I wasn't afraid. My sister and I saw this thing in a little hallway that had no windows and no other way for a outside light to come in. We know we saw a ghost; it was very clear to us.

I remember going to a home where spirits tried to scare people away by scattering coffee grounds and making the pictures on the wall crooked. We wd pick up the grounds put them in the trash and straighten the pics and then it would happen again. Two people in the house I knew I didnt do it and my friend didnt do it. She stayed close to me because she was scared to be alone. There was just a real erie feeling in the air.

When I was 11 or so I was on summer vacation in Mexico. We had gone to a different town one day and were shopping for some cool souvenirs. I wasn't really interested in anything until I saw a small creepy looking puppet. It had mexican attire with the sombrero and everything. It had this creepy look on it's face like it was trying too hard to smile. I don't know why but I was drawn to it. So I bought it. After we came back home I started getting even more creeped out by this doll. I always tried to hide this doll. I hid it in the cupboards, attic, and even the basement. One night I had it in my drawer in my room while I was doing homework. The drawer started shaking and I got really freaked out and ran to my parents' room. I was watching a baseball game with my dad and I all of a sudden got really sleepy. I ended up falling asleep.. That night I had one of the worst dreams ever. I dreamt that the doll was attacking me and according to my dad I was yelling and shaking and I even punched my fist in the air. I woke up crying and I felt sick to my stomach. I ended up throwing up and it was the worst feeling ever. My dad later threw away the doll and it all seemed normal from then on. The next year we went back to Mexico to visit my grandparents again. We decided to go back to the vendor but the vendor was no longer there. I asked around and this old man told me that the man who sold me the doll had history with customers. Apparently the man was known on the block to be a "black vendor". The man went on to explain that the vendor went from town to town selling tampered items. Meaning cursed I suppose. I got really freaked out and I went on with life. Im 17 now and Last year we found out that the vendor had committed suicide. It wasn't a shock to any of us for some freakish reason. Ever since then Ive felt a heaviness on myself.
