I was down near Frog Jump Hollow and it started to rain real hard like. but as it got about near the ground, three inches up, it just plain evapeerated. Yep, neer a drop hit the ground. First disappearring rain I have ever saw. haint never figured it out yet, but I will continue to study the scientific problem of rain evapeeration

Seems I missed the champion flea jumping contest down at FRO JUMP HOLLOW. I put the wrong dagnabbed dates down on my calendar. Guess I will make the next contest next november 2011. Stopped by the store in Frog Jump Hollow and the fella sitting on the steps drinking a nice ice cold RoC and eating a king size BABY RUTH says I missed the jump off by a week. To come back in November to see the real championship jump off as the Russian cricket flea will be entered the next jump off. Seems the cricket flea got a head cold and was to sick to jump during this contest. So the folks decided to have another jump off in November 2011. 1 week before thanks giving . I gotta makle the next jump off as that is the biggest flea I ever did seed.

Dam R. so someone is reading my gossip column. one of these days I am going to add the sex and murder and mayube a little bit about the dope scene. I just hope they do not outsource my col;umn to China wheere the labor is cheaper. But just maybe there is not enough sex and drama in the column for the drama queens Been told they enjoy my column in merry old London. Now the drama really happened to a fella who stuck his arm down a hole in the ground and thought he had ahold of a rabbit but ended up pulling a big bad mean old boar possum out of the hole on his thumb. Seems that possum bit down on his thumb and did not want to let go, sulled up with that bite. But the old boy had possum fer supper that nite and he was really rabbit hunting. THANKS FER STOPPING BY rIRI. i BET YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN A Russian Wolf Hound cricket Flea have you. Besides jumping they can also fly through the air after making and during a leaping take off. Have a nice day, I am. Why I found out yeasterday that there is really no tommorows, as there is only today. Now thats a fact of life.

RIRI, I have been traveling alot lately. Just enjoying myself, by myself. Now that gets kinda lonesome at times till I get to hug a tree. Why it did get lonesome somewhat when I ran through some territory that has nary a thing growing on it that was green---it was only rocks as fer a the eye could see. No trees to hug there. Never even seen a person nar a animal living or dead. Not even a road kill armydiller. Just naked country. Not even any rain to take a shower in and scrub off a bit. And I can tell you fer sure it aint good to try taking a dry show with a bar of soap. Dont work to good. 3/19/12 by pappy

I went to the last 2 flea jumping contest down in Frog Jump Hollow though. Now I even seen that Russian wolf Hound once agin. He was justa sittin on the ground scratching up a storm., looking kkind opf mangy like. Had so many Russian Wolf Hound Flying Cricket Fleas on him he looked kinda balk. Gess he was doing to much scratchin. The owner told me he did not want to take achance on using flea powwder on the Great Russian , as he called his hound, becuase he might kill all of his fling cricket fleas. Well, I gess he was gonna save the fles but I wondered about the dog.I hope he survived the many fleas and lived. Theys gonna have an other flea jumping contest in may, I think I wil mosey back down that way and see who survived, the fleas or the dog. Im gonna have to ponder upon that question till i return.

Flash::: It is a shame but I got it by rumor that the Greatest jumping --the Flying Russian jumping Flea ended his life in a contest of a vampire blood sucking contest and won the contest hands down. He had 12 other fleas entered in the contest competing against him. But it is a shame because he overdosed on the blood and died from a flea symstemic flea poison that the dog hag had been given to prevent flea infestation. So long Cricket Flea you were the champiom. Do not forget the Frog Jump hollow jumping contest in September. Come one come alll. Seems the Russian Flying Cricket Flea has some Russian cousins that have entered the contest for September making it the First Frog Jump Hollow the first international flea jumping contest held in Frog Jump Hollopw.

RIRI, I was viewing the George column and there seems to be a little somewhat of a drama going on there. but it seems to be alll hair parlor talk about nothing but real gossip but nothing really hot going on. But one of thsoe Russian flying cricket fleas that rode in to town on the back of a Russian Wolf hound jsut up and died. they plan on doing an quick stop autopsy on the flying cricket --they callled him JUMPING JIMMY FLYBOY. nOW THATS WHAT i CLALL A REAL EXOTIC NAME AINT IT. bUT i HEAR PEOPLE HAVE BEEN RAISING PLENTY OF THSOE rUSSIAN FLYING CRICKET FLEAS, SO THAT FLEA JUMPING CONTEST WILLL BE MIGHTY entertaining this fall. Should be a lot of pwoplw there this season for the jumping contest.

Been busy and on vacation. Hear they are fixing to have one of the best FLEA JUMPING CONTEST DOWN IN FROG JUMP HOLLOW AQND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE STARTED RAISING THSOE FOREIOGN RUSSIAN WOLF HOUND FLYING CRICKET FLEAS. they sure do jump further thn an ordinary Blue Tick Hound dog Flea. Recon that is because they take a jumping leap before flying the rest of the way to the finish line. Hear they are trying to cross breed that flying crichet flea with every imaginable insect they can thing of, and some seem to be cross breeding. they have even been trying to cross breed that fles to thsoe killer mosquiteers that kill people when they bite em. But the Fles always ended up dead, the mosquiteer bit him and the critter dies of that squiteeer killer desease. They lost some good jumping fleas that way, just up and died from being bittenm. That fleas head swells up so big from the headaches that it just burst open. What a headache that must be. You'll folks have a nice day.

A long iem ago I was passing through a part of oklhoma nd stopeed off at a small place on a roch hill to get soem water for my pick up. Now this was a time that was near back in the great depression when folks were chasing HOOVR RABBITS FOR DINNER TIME. It twas poor times for most folks and darn near most harder times for all folks. This fella was telling me about the garden he kept on planting year after year and just seem to grow nothing but rocks. He was telling me that about the only thing his garden wasgood at raisingf was baby rocks. That is till a drought came along andeven killedoff the very thing he raiosed the best, baby rocks, and that year even the baby rocks just up p and dies. He was telling m about how well he fertilized that garden for years. So he finally gave up gardening when he he could not even raise thsei baby rocks any more. Seems his whole hil was made of roch and even before the drought camethat garden just kept on growing so many baby rocks that hsi kids could not keep up with the growing and he alread yhad a big pile of them piled up where they them out of the garden. Seems they just sprouted every where from thsoe mother rocks. That old boy just gave up completely on his garden. Why I even noticed a few of thsoe baby rocs in the bottom of the bucket he used to get water out of his well. Dand near half full of baby rocks. Took me 6 buckets of rocke=s nd water to get enough water out of that well to fill my truck up. Could not figure out why that fella just klept onm planting that garden every year uif it only grw baby rocks. Guess he was just stubborn cuss and wanted to get the best of those rocks.

One thing about that fella living on that rock hill he never had to worry about being over weight. Said he got some of those goverment give me commodities though. Said it sure helped him and his family out alot. He even invited me in for a glass of tea made from his well ware and cooled off in his well as he didnot have electricity nor a refrigerator. So we sat onhis front prch, which was about to fall off the rest of the house, and drank some fine tea and eat some of that commodity cheese,. Dang, it amazes me of how such memories come backl to a manthat was near gone before remembering the past--seems the past is always near in a mans memory.

During my last trip out on the road just visiting and seeiing themany sights in Oklahoma I decided to take a side trip and visit an boy I had met back many years ago during the depression. I was just curious about how he was doing and how his garden was doing in the hot weather. And of course if there had ben any improvements since the last time I saw him. And that was long ago. So off I went on the side road, another adventure for me. I found the place alright and it looked the same. Stilll had that front porch about near falling off the rest of the house. Why on that very porch was where I had enjoyed a nice glass of tea and some commodity chesse. Of course that cheese came from a program to keep farmers on the farm and to feed the folks during hard times in the great depression. The goverment improved the commodity program thanks to the lobbying of the big grocery food chain stores to get a crack at selling groceries to the people getting commodities. So I stopped by the house and knocked on the front door and a young man came to the door . I learned he was the son of the man I had visited so far back in the during the deprssion But he was just like his father, friendly and courteous, and invited me to set awhile and rest myself up a bit. I inquired about hsi garden an he said he would show the progress he has achieved since his father passed on through those pearly gates to meet the angels. As I stepped through the back door I stopped and stood in amazement , looking at the garden. There was big gaint boulders every where , where there was none years ago on my first stop over. The young mans name was DeFloouer--french I reckon. I asked him where the boulders came from and he sid that the baby rocks his father grew in the garden just kept growing and growing and turned into boulders. He speculated it was the new fangled fertizer he was using, he had added lots of pot ash to the other fertilizer . He figures that was what made the rocks grow so fast. He still had not been able to get any vegetables to grow in the garden though, just rocks. He told me that last year he became encouraged because a weed started growing in the garden last year so he added more potash to the garden. But the weed just up and died. As an after thought he told me they dont get commmodities or cheese no more but just food stamps. But he still invited me to have a glasss of tea, it was a new fangled tyoe, calledstrawberry rhone flavored tea. They still could not afford electricity as the rural electric company that came to the county charged to high a price for their electric so they stil used coal oil for light and keroscene to cook on. And used the well to cool off some of the foods they bought. So Mr. DeFlouer and I sat for a while on the front porch talking politics , weather and other subjects that came to mind. Then I had to continue on my journey so we said goodby. But being a gentleman as he was he invited me back and to stop by anytime. How thsoe rocks turned into boulders in and around that garden is still a mystery to me. And hwo they had grown. One of them must have weighed 2 tons or more.
