Pappy,

It's a product of the Welfare State!

I would think a liberal, like yourself, would relish in the results of the Nanny State? I mean you advocate endless Welfare and Entitlements, to anyone and Fort Towson is prime example of the results.

Why would anyone leave, they get a check delivered to their mailbox, every month to pay their bills and food. Why leave?

However; if they did not get a check every month, it might compel them to, get off their lazy asses and get a job, even if; they have to relocate.

So, don't sit there and advocate Welfare and Entitlements and then make a comment, like "why stay", why; would a lazy, dope addict, drunk, leave? I mean they have money delivered to them monthly and senior citizens, from which; they can steal?

Once again, why; leave?

Confused there is nothing there to make a living there. So how can a person stay in a location if there are no jobs. As for welfare the corporations are surely getting their share by feeding at the trough full of subsidies. And they kept on filling the trough up so it never runs out of subsidies. AS for welfare Confused the farmers in that area are also getting fed some of those Ag subsidies. In the Ag
bill they cut food stamps by 20 billion and bilt another feed trough to feed those bigger subsidies in. They just increased the Ag Program of subsidies by 5 more million $$$. Took that 5 Billion $ from the cuts on food stamps. So they just made the Ag subsidies bigger. That is welfare for the larger big Ag commercial farmers.

Confused, you may be surprised, not all of the rich work----they let their inherited money do the work for them and hire money managers to oversee their wealth. And get all the subsidies they can get through their lobbyist lobbying. Even I have not worked in may a year. I just watch that money roll in and enjoy every minute of it. But I do enjoy cooking and experimenting with different seasonings while cooking. You would be surprised what a small amount of brown sugar in a dish will do to enhance flavor.

Confused, the only thing wrong is I have not as of yet figured out how to get the federal government to subsidize me with all those goodies. But I am still working on it. By the way confused, I am still driving the same old pickup and living in the same old house on top of the hill. That way as all liquids drain downward I never have any backups in my sewer lines. Free advsie--never buy a house or property at the bottom of a hill or in a flat flood plain

So, you're a government mooch, hence, the problem.

It's nice to know my tax dollars are supporting another liberal, such as yourself.

You could at least say thank you, while adding brown sugar to your chili.

I feel a slight bit ignorant after reading this whole thread. Pappy, you ought to know better than to argue with someone who generalizes an entire population by the actions of a few. I started babysitting at 12, had a normal job by 15 and paid into my "entitlements" lol, until I hit my late 40's and became disabled. For CONFUSED BY RHETORIC, your arguement isn't well thought out. I worked for everything I have, don't OWE a ton of money and never did, to ANYONE. My home is two years old, and paid free n clear. The house is 2 bedroom, not MORE THAN I NEED. People who feel entitled might not find a job in Ft. Towson or anywhere, if you imply they don't work because they get a check. Perhaps not EVERYONE is the problem, but those who are, don't just live in one small town...they are everywhere. Just one thing, MY SON, is ENTITLED to the PAYCHECK he earns, following college, he was immediately employed. He pays for the ENTITLED, with pleasure, but despises those committing fraud on my back, that of my parents and grandparents. Good luck.

Lets do the math?

1. You started paying taxes at 16 years of age.
2. You worked a total of 24 years.
3. Average lifespan of American citizen, 72 years of age.
4. You paid into the system 24 years and statistically you will draw benefits for 32 years or more.
5. You will draw more benefits than you ever paid, pretty simple math and it remains the Achilles Heel of Social
Welfare programs.

I am sure your son will enjoy paying with pleasure, for the "entitled", when his tax bill hits 80% or 90%.

I don't want to burst your bubble, however, unemployment and people drawing government benefits in Fort Towson are far greater than few, check the statistics.

Maybe, you should rethink your comments, prior to posting them?

You paid taxes at the age 12, while babysitting, what a load of crap. Anyhow, statistically, you will still draw benefits, more years than you paid. How can you argue the simple math?

On what information should I base my argument, statistics or your anecdotal crap?

Admit it, you commented without thinking and was proven wrong.
