This is a sad story and I think Wal Mart should be held just as responsible as the animals that stampeded the store. Wal Mart knows every year this kind of thing happens and they should have added extra security and been better organized. All for greed.

The entire event is for fools and idiots.

Standing in line at 5 o'clock in the morning to go shopping. Then getting pissed when someone dies and you're asked to stop shopping?!

Lunacy, pathetic.

And two deaths in California?

This is shopping. Shopping.

Sad. There is NOTHING in Walmart that is worth trampling an employee and tearing apart a door for. People have gone absolutely nuts. This is SHOPPING, people! Keep your cool. If you can't get it now, it'll be on sale after Christmas.

This is disgusting that people were allowed to behave this way. All of these people at the front of the crowd should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They committed a murder.

Ignorance at it's worst! These stores do this every year, get everyone all hyped up over a sale, then this happened. It makes me sick! And of course someone has to bring the race issue into it.

Every year, for at least the past five years, people have been killed on black Friday. Pathetic and ridiculous. It's asinine to camp outside a store all night anyway WTF.

One thing you can count on every year, the day after Thanksgiving no less, is corporate greed and the American public's stupidity and blatant disregard for human life.

I heard that said on a news show just a few minutes ago, that the people doing the pushing and shoving should be prosecuted. I totally agree with that and your post. A person is DEAD!! Get it Wal-Mart??

Hey I am from Deer Park, Long island and first off this isnt in NYC this is in nassau county. Let me first say I find this to be a total joke I cannot believe there wasn't added security I never feel safe at green acres there is stabbings there almost every day of the year always something bad is happening there. I blame everybody I blame the police, I blame walmart and I blame the people that were trampling just so they could get what they wanted. I think its a total joke. I really wish those people could get in trouble but it will be filed an accident and all will be let go free.

you know if people would spend as much effort in trying to save the world as they do trying to buy the junk that is destroying it, we might be able to live on it for a long time.
we are all going to have to be the farmers of the world in order to save it and we could make a great living at it too.
The corporate junk system has proved it's self not to work.
im not saying that corporate farming wouldn't work if it was set up right.
a different kind of farming, from raising trees to fish and so on.

I am tired of people bashing new york. Yes we have violence I mean who doesn't. I will 100% admit that green acres mall is definitely the worst mall to go to. I went there once and never went there again. The place is infested with gangs and all. It pretty much is like a prison all the bad people seem to go there.

PALM DESERT, Calif.- Two people were shot to death in a crowded toy store on Black Friday in a confrontation apparently involving rival groups, city officials said.

Palm Desert Councilman Jim Ferguson said police told him two men with handguns shot and killed each other. Ferguson said he asked police whether the incident was a dispute over a toy or whether it was gang-related. He said police told him they were not going to release further details until the victims' relatives were notified.

"I think the obvious question everyone has is who takes loaded weapons into a Toys "R" Us?" he said. "I doubt it was the casual holiday shopper
