I agree lala. None of these bannings have ever cut down on crime and never will. The presidents two daughters have armed Secret Service with them at school(so I have read), imagine that. The citizens will fight if the attempt is made to disarm them. There is also many of the military that call themselves oath keepers that took their oath to defend the constitution seriously and will not obey command officers to take away guns from law abiding citizens.
This is the way I see it shaking down. The administration does now want a civil war. There will some bans on assault weapons, tighter control on registration, etc. There will be a compromise initially. Then they will wait....and wait...and wait...... until there is some kind of crisis. There will be another shooting, a natural disaster, something big. Then the President will say I have no choice...and I do think there will be an attempt to confiscate weapons.

When that day comes, I will not fight. I will tell officers who come to take my weapons that I do not chose to relinquish them, based on my second amendment rights. If they insist, I will tell them to arrest me and give me my day in court. If millions of gun owners used this tactic, the jails would be overflowing and the court system clogged. We will win the argument if we follow this strategy.
The people who fight will lose, and be demonized as crazy gun owners. A few might get killed, and then others will just roll over. If there is an uprising, there will be martial law, and under martial law, you must relinquish your weapons if told to. We can win any battle using passive-aggressive behavior.(That means being a pain in the azz, but offering no resistance). Look what happened at Waco, and Ruby Ridge. The government has no qualms to kill potentially "dangerous" people. Just watch and wait. This scenario may take years to unfold, but it will happen if you let it, or give in to active aggression, just to make a bold, but futile statement that you are right.

Hahaha...always a different, but correct slant on things. I hope it doesn't regress to the "UGG" stage. Wild west sounds more interesting.

Wow, we turned political site again. Ugh. I am amazed that "Nope" was refused, not that she was treated like a second class citizen in a gun shop, that she left any paperwork there at all and left the store without demanding to know why her rights were being denied. Not that I want to discuss the political gun scare scenario so rampid right now, I seen an article that made me wonder, as I do not know a lot about the NRA, or am I a member. It was interesting if it is true.

Also, I wonder if people will remember President Reagan putting the ban on assault weapons and NO ONE came to take your guns then. All this debate has done is make the gun stores and makers smile. Maybe, in the end when people buy all the guns they can we will be asked to use them on the terrorist invading our country or something like that. You never know. I think there will be more people with guns than people trying to take them away. It is a way of life in American history. I think panic and paranoia is a bit much. I don't think anyone is going to come get my guns. They are legal handguns, a rifle, and a shotgun left to me, obtained legally, never used in a crime, target shooting only, and in no way shape or form would they be considered "assault weapons". The Lost History of the NRA

In the 1920s and 1930s, the NRA痴 leaders helped write and lobby for the first federal gun control laws葉he very kinds of laws that the modern NRA labels as the height of tryanny. The 17th Amendment outlawing alchohol became law in 1920 and was soon followed by the emergence of big city gangsters who outgunned the police by killing rivals with sawed-off shotguns and machine guns葉oday called automatic weapons.

In the early 1920s, the National Revolver Association葉he NRA痴 handgun training counterpart用roposed model legislation for states that included requiring a permit to carry a concealed weapon, adding five years to a prison sentence if a gun was used in a crime, and banning non-citizens from buying a handgun. They also proposed that gun dealers turn over sales records to police and created a one-day waiting period between buying a gun and getting it葉wo provisions that the NRA opposes today.

The NRA's history has been lost, by the way, in much the same way that the history of the Republican party has been lost.

Conservative polemicists often recall that the 19th and early 20th century Democratic party was home to the racists populists of the South.(Here's Jeffrey Lord doing it again today. This is the same Jeffrey Lord, by the way, who once denied that lynching could ever be accomplished by any means other than hanging.)

What is omitted to mention, in this kind of party-centric history of America, is how many Republicans, in those days, espoused a politics of government action in the service of social reform. The early NRA was very much a Republican institution: founded by former Union officers, even. I've made this joke before, and now I'll make it again: if Ambrose Burnside, the most important NRA founder, were alive today to hear NRA members talk about turning guns on the federal government, he'd want to hang them. Literally. As commander of the Department of the Ohio, Burnside arrested newspaper editors and even a member of Congress for speech that he regarded as insufficiently loyal to the Union cause. His famous General Order 38 declared, " It must be understood that treason, expressed or implied, will not be tolerated in this department." Fortunately, President Lincoln over-ruled Burnside on the death sentences bit.

I hope they don't ban the classic St. Valentine's Day massacre movie. Oh wait, that was probably okay since it was a bunch of gangsters pretending to be cops. LOL

Talk later. It's time for a nap and a few more chores until I can return. It seems a strange thing to me to feel that I really know you folks. I have a mental image of all of you, just through the portrait you paint with your words. I do know what Abeliever and Ohio Jeep Girl look like from the pictures sent through private e-mail. And my imagination was right on target for both of them. Wonder what Sybil and Una look lie?...Nah, not so much LOL, as in the closing words of our long-lost Hempburn. Any of you heard from him, by the way. I'm getting a little worried because he started the day with his Hempburn Reportl

Me neither, these days not much surprises me. I try to keep an open mind, do my own research. Don't rely on just one opinion or news site.

I didn't think you were a butt kisser.

I wonder what happen to Hempburn. I miss him and his daily reports.

Thanks, I hope you have a good day too.

The unsolved mystery of the booms are now being heard around the world. Don't care about your government conspiracy theories just wondering how far ranging this is. In Western KY today they are occurring at a rate of once every 5 to 15 minutes. The best guess I've read is the solar eruption that occurred a year ago is at its peak hitting earth and bending the atmosphere causing a sonic boom.

Hemburn may be involved in a newly funded research program attempting to link that the consumption of too much coffee causes babies to be born naked.
