I'm just going by what I've heard here and there,my judgement is based solely on others. If the cop did it out of pure rage without any criminal action on johnny's part then sure I'll side with the both of you.

Thx man. Plus, there's no way to have been able to tell they were cops. They were wearing flannel and a baseball cap, shouting obscenities, after nearing running me over, pulling a controversial driving maneuver... nothing said they were the police, and everything said that I was about to get jumped by some hoodlums... which I did, AFTER, I complied w/ them AFTER they told me they were the police. Later, LMPD would tell me that if I would have ran, they wouldn't have chased me, b/c they knew they were on some b.s. power trip, bulldog, let's go 'em type mentality. It's just weird that if you take their words to be true, that they wouldn't have chased me if I ran, then my mistake was complying with them... which I'm sure isn't the real lesson... If I would have ran, then it would have been worse, I'm guessing. Who knows. But fairness is switching roles... if I was go driving around, w/ a baseball cap and a flannel, and said I was police, does that entitle me to beat up whoever I want? Of course it doesn't. They had no reason to stop me... gett'n beat up, just for walk'n across the street... SMDH.

Ha Rev. not all cops are government thugs. I was a cop for about 18 months before I got called up for Desert Storm. I have relatives that are cops.

Last Christmas my relatives did tell me the cops they are hiring these days are a lot of nut job, thug types. One said they will not hire anyone with an IQ greater than 100. He may have been popping off after a few drinks.........

sir, I agree with you completely, not all cops are bad...I had a cop give me a ride home in the snow back in 2005. Godbless the true police that have the people in mind and who uphold the constitution...may god be with them.

There was this case, where a woman had a restraining order out, and the cops didn't save her, so her estate sued the police, saying that they didn't do their job, since they didn't protect her, but Supreme Court said that they didn't have to protect and serve her, just enforce the legislation passed... so, that would suggest that Revelations is correct. They are the King's men. They are there to protect the government. Look at Occupy Louisville. Who owns the public parks? Not the people. Ultimately, all public property... roads, buildings, parks, bridges, are the GOVERNMENT'S, not the public's. I'm inclined to believe it... I dont know who these cops are out here... I dont know why they're out here... they don't make me feel safe, AT ALL. The Police disproportionately go after young men anyways, and while society cares for "women and children", it seems as though men are expendable. They are allowed to get attacked, get raped in prison, go overseas to die, etc. I think there's a few good apples on the squad, but honestly, I doubt it... it's a culture of thuggery... to go around, looking for trouble. The way I felt when I went to Jail, was everybody was just shytheads to you... just b/c. They weren't human. They were psychopaths. That's another stat... the police have the same levels of insanity, or drug use, or prone to bouts of violence as the general population, if not more... couple that with our politicians are straight up psychopaths (folks who can't empathize w/ others), and we got ourselves the police state.

Something I wished they'd do to the cops, I wish they'd be test on the Bill of Rights. Okay, if I'm hurting others, go ahead, arrest me. But if I'm just talk'n, u know, express'n my First Amendment rights, a cop shouldn't b yell'n and carry'n on, b/c really, since Freedom of Speech is the Law, then that cop should be clear'n that space for me to talk. He shouldn't be order'n me to be silent. W/ Freedom of Speech, that would b an unlawful order... so I guess, Im wondering, whose out here to enforce my legal rights? They dont mind using violence at a whim to my detriment, but when do they use violence in my defense?

There's more police riots than there are people riots. It sickens me when folks think just b/c you wear blue, as if that somehow automatically makes you a good person. I also think it's the same violent patriarchal totalitarian society I grew up in. There's no difference. Child abuse happens all throughout Kentucky because the State maintains a hold on the monopoly of violence... and hurts the people clearly, for "their own good". Bull...

I overheard some kid watching a video on the Holocaust, say that "Well, the Jews must of been doing something wrong to deserve that!" Really? CLEARLY! It's almost as if we've grown accustomed to the idea that violence by itself is just good, when it's not. Also, if you're just obedient to others, you're not using your own moral compass. Obedience doesn't require you to think, and make your own decisions. Morality does.

There's got to be some middle ground. I think about fights at playgrounds, or at the bars... whose in the wrong? If I call another person a "fggt", is that enough of a reason to start swinging? No... I dont think so. I think words are words, and actions are actions. So basically, if it's just words, then one can say whatever they want to say... and until it turns into violence, or impending violence (like a man raising his hand up, w/ a gun, to shoot you), then you aren't to do a thang.

you are right, John. You do have the freedom of speech. Long as you aren't threatening or being belligerent, you should be able to speak. I've seen cops tell people to shut their f'ing mouth. The Constitution says freedom of speech..? There are good cops...and like everything else, there are the a holes, too.

And I don't think women are protected like they were say twenty yesrs ago. The law has become hardened toward women, juveniles, and men. Everyone is subject to a beat down.

I don't know your circumstances, but like I said earlier, with so many people being afraid of people impersonating cops and thugs running up on people, people are not taking chances.

Shamar Thomas is right, and if they aren't protecting our first freedom, then what freedoms are they protecting? Any? Somebody said that America is Israel, and Americans are the new Palestinians, and to have fun with that, since we paid for it. This isn't Nazi Germany. There isn't systematic searches for Jews, and concentration camps... well, not yet. They have all the supplies for the concentration camps out and ready... but no executions... they did arrest Malcolm X's grandson, and Keith Ratliff, that self-defined "gun nut", was shot in the head... a nice clean kl shot. It and out. Just like Mark Walhberg, in the Departed. I think there's a few good appples, but what I was try'n to say from above, is that there's this culture of cruelty, that if you aren't in on it, then you become the target.

None of those prison guards had any Integrity. They got excited when they were going to take me into the back, and hogtie me, and molest me... they pretend like them touch'n me was going to do something to me, but really, it just showed me how sadistically psychopathic these guys are. They are clearly homophobic, so they love gay porn the most (studies show), and they are the ones gett'n excited about touch'n me. What the fk is that about?

And impersonating the police is something that happens... I've seen folks dressed up as FBI, going into people's houses... heck, Mitt Romney said he used to impersonate a police officer, just for fun, in his college days. But LMPD... several months ago, I was just sitt'n on my bicycle, and one came up to me, yellin in my face that I needed to leave... it was unnecessary, and Im tired of liv'n in an America where I'm not protected. I'm tired of police treat'n us like this. My sense told me to run, which I did, embarassingly... but yeah, I dont want to b around some insane psychopath... I remember this one dude in Cincinnati, Xavier University, who'd yell in people's faces, just to bait them into a fight... or as Dennis Fischer says, to separate the strong from the weak... to see who'll comply immediately, and who won't... but again, I got my nose shattered only when I COMPLIED w/ the police. When ur being jumped, u only got 2 choices... run, or fight. And when that car door popped open, when he stopped in the middle of the road, of a busy intersection, well... busy enough, I figured it was on. I mean... how could u not?

What would u done ?
